Don't Bash Tee

I'm disappointed like you all are, but we'll move on.

Tee Martin won a Title for our beloved VOLS. He's represented UT extremely well. He wanted to be here 2-3 years ago (according to Ainge) and couldn't get a call back. He did what he felt was best for his family. As VOLS, we don't throw one of our own to the curb over a personal and professional decision. He's STILL a VFL. That's all. GBO!

....but bash Dooley and Hart all you want

Tee may just be left coast guy and likes it there. Wife may not wanted to move again in 1 year. I'm sure the deal with Dooley really pissed him off last year. Maybe he sees the problems with our AD and just does not want to deal with it. Maybe USC made him a better offer. Who knows.

He's gonna be a Vol next year when Lane is Fired! So he's on the waiting list that is all..

I'm sorry, but being a former player doesn't necessarily make one a VFL. If you don't think enough of your alma mater to come and help them when THEY NEED YOU, you're not a VFL. You're a former player. That's where it ends.

He says it's a business decision. Well it's one hell of a decision to not only refuse to help your alma mater, but to willfully funk us over. How is that? Cause his job is snatching the best players in our own back yard. Recruiting-wise, he chose to continue to compete AGAINST us...to continue to hurt us, instead of helping.

VFL? Hardly. He turned that card in today. I honestly don't care if I ever hear his name again.

Yeah man, Its not like he has a family to provide for. How can he think only of his career and not what is best for us fans? the nerve.

Maybe he should consider Kiffin's days are numbered. Hopefully he isn't looking for a new job next year. I think this has more to do with his wife trying to start a music career.

Oh yea, he flew across the country at UT expense.

Its what it is folks, he chose Kiffin, job, and location over his alma mater. He should have never made the trip if he wasnt sure.

Spin it anyway you want.

I don't think Tee is the one we should be pissed at. We can't expect the guy to do us all a favor and come here out of the goodness of his heart. He deserves to be well compensated for moving his family all the way across the country and for being a lights out recruiter. I will blame this not getting done on the same guy that couldn't get any coaches to come here. Fire Hart yesterday imo.

C,mon guys...it just may not have worked out this time. He's still part a of vol nation and always will be. Mabe next time, and I think we can assume there will be a next time. If nothing else, we rebuilt the bridges burned previously when Tee did not get a very warm response from UT (if those reports are true).

I'm listening to Ainge take up for him, saying it's a business decision. He needs to hear what Jay Graham said. He said he'd do it all over again. Why? Cause when his alma mater needed him, he didn't have to think about it twice.

Jay is a Vol for Life. Tee Martin, as of today....is just a former player. He will be back on the recruiting trail, continuing to steal talent from us in our own state. How 'bout them apples? Saying it's just business, is like working for an insurance firm that is actively trying to screw your parents out of a legit claim when their house is leveled by a tornado. They plead with you for help, and your reply is...sorry folks, it's a business decision.

Pleading for a roof over one's head and hoping we land an awesome recruiter who's also a former player are two very, very different things. And I'd punch that insurance adjuster in the mouth if that happened, BTW. I'm pissed too, but I don't blame Tee.

Sometimes in life you have to listen to your head instead of your heart. I know Tee is all Orange and the college coaching world is small. I hope the opportunity to get him back to Knoxville comes around again at a time that aligns with his career/life goals.

Ainge is a moron and just takes up for every person ever related to UT.

According to most on here, if you are not excited about Jones and are in a wait and see mode you are not a VFL but if you turn down your school to stay with a guy who done more harm to UT football than anyone in the school's history you are a VFL.

Tee owes us nothing. He isn't going to walk into this mess without being heavily compensated for it. The problem is that the same retard that wouldn't put up for gruden's staff isn't willing to put up for Butch's staff either.

I don't like Hart either, but how do you know it's about compensation? I can't believe that they are not willing to match or beat what USC is paying him. Plus, he literally would have to make twice as much there to get the same standard of living here. I lived in CA for a few years recently. I know.

I will say that for people saying hes making more money there that it is likely true. However, his dollar would go much further in East TN. But he will be back on the hill someday.
