Don't forget about Worley!!!

There's not a single QB on Tennessee's roster that can be compared to AJ McCarron, and that's a fact. I don't say this because I like the guy (I think he's Alabama trash) and I don't say this because I think he'll be a success in the NFL (he won't). But he's a seasoned, experienced SEC football veteran with more national championship rings than losses. That's impressive. Maybe it is because he has the best defense in college football, and sure, maybe it is because opponents have to respect the ground game so much that it opens up a lot of passing opportunities. But I'll say this for him: Alabama has never lost a football game because of poor play by AJ McCarron.

He's very similar to Aaron Murray, IMO. Both are fifth-year seniors with a lot of games and a lot of wins under their belt. They've had years of consistent coaching & development and a solid supporting cast of players. They don't make mistakes or bad decisions with the ball and they know how to win. That's about all you can ask for in CFB, really.

I like that Dobbs is willing to keep it on the read option, but he's not nearly as polished a passer as Worley.

We need a dynamic play maker at the QB position for this offense to be effective every week.

Worley is a game manager ... Sorry honest truth .

How did that dynamic play maker QB do last year? I want a winner at QB. So far I'm not sure who that is going to be.

I don't disagree with you that JD's passing needs work, but Worley a "polished passer"? No offense (get it?), but what games are you watching? He may have been improving up until his injury, but JW probably put 1 out of every 3 passes he threw in the dirt or over his target's head this year. Or has it been so long that we've already forgotten the thousands of "PULL WORLEY" threads created during almost every game this season?

Bray ?

Wouldn't qualify him as "dynamic" ... Also read my post again.. THIS YEARS OFFENSE . We changed coordinators if you didn't notice.

It seems to me from reading the posts on here that Worley isn't even in the conversation when it comes to next season. Dobbs has promise no doubt, and even though we haven't seen Ferg, there seems to be a lot of confidence in him. If everyone will stop and think back to the back to back GA. and SCAR. games, Worley was starting to be a leader and making the throws. Then he got hurt and we have lost 3 straight blowouts. This is not a knock on freshman Dobbs, only a just wait and see on Worley. Worley could be really outstanding his senior year.

Nope.

My mind has not changed. If Worley had finished this season the starter then I believe he would have been the starter next year. Dobbs can lock the job down with 3 strong performances to finish this season but otherwise we have another open competition between 4 guys in the Spring.

Either Dobbs or Peterman. Worley as a backup. Peterman should transfer.

C'mon man. Why go down this road again? Why? "Meaningful" wins. Bray?? Starting looking to the future and get out of the past man! Dobbs is our future, as in this Saturday. Obviously Dobbs was the most qualified freshman to start or CBJ would have started someone else.

That's actually false. Ferguson was actually ahead of Dobbs on the depth chart, but then he injured his knee and wasn't able to play vs Alabama. He could've played, but it would've been very risky with him having a tweaked knee. I'm not making things up. I remember all the media saying how Ferguson was ahead of Dobbs in the depth chart almost all year

Ok, so here's my final thought/comment on McCarron. What's the most important position on the field? QB right? Right. When AJ McCarron has started for Bama, they're 35-2 and have won 2 consecutive national championships with a third more than likely coming soon. I'm not saying he's the most dynamic playmaking QB I've ever seen. I'd say that guy is more than likely Manziel. But the kid threw 30 tds last year..... 30. A game manager, IMHO, would've thrown more like 14-15, just trying to "manage" the game, not get in the way, not turn the ball over. That's not what he did.

He's gonna throw around 30 again this year. Just saying the kid is a very good college QB who deserves the respect that his play has earned him. Not to be dismissed as a potential liability if he "goes off script" or something. He's better than that. I can hate Bama, which I do, but still recognize that their QB is very very good. That's all. He isn't, nor will he ever be anywhere near Peyton, but he's a lot better than the negative connotation that being called a "game manager" labels him.

You could compare him to peyton in "college". Same kind of team. Same type playmakers on offense and defense. I wish some of these younger guys could have seen us then.

Worley will be the starter next season

I respect Worley and appreciate his abilities as inconsistent as they are, but He does not fit into the type of Offense CBJ wants to put on the field. Dobbs, is the future. Worley is a great backup. Does anyone in their right mind think that Worley would actually read the defense, take off running north and south? In 6 Qtrs, Dobbs has shown more promise of things to come than Worley did all season. Worley has more experience, but he is likes to still throw into the dirt(as a junior). Its so clear, If Worley was so good, then why would there any questions throughout this season about starting QB....AS a JUNIOR.??? I appreciate Worley, but hope he remains a backup.

I'm not bashing Dobbs here, but so far, I'm not goo goo ga ga over him like everyone else. I understand he's our QB of the future, but so far, he hasn't made any throws that have impressed me (besides the North had to twist over backwards to get). Has he even thrown a TD pass yet? Yeah, it's great that he can run, but he's also got to make some big throws, which he hasn't. I'm sure, though, that in time, it will all come together and he will be a good QB in this league. I hope Dobbs proves me absolutely wrong this weekend and throws 7 touchdown passes to 7 different receivers, and runs for 3 touchdowns for 500 yds (the most hypothetical situation ever)

will be a great back up QB to Dobbs next year, provided he hangs tough and dosen't transfer. Worley will have a degree, no disrespect to Worley whatsoever.:)
