Don't forget about Worley!!!

It seems to me from reading the posts on here that Worley isn't even in the conversation when it comes to next season. Dobbs has promise no doubt, and even though we haven't seen Ferg, there seems to be a lot of confidence in him. If everyone will stop and think back to the back to back GA. and SCAR. games, Worley was starting to be a leader and making the throws. Then he got hurt and we have lost 3 straight blowouts. This is not a knock on freshman Dobbs, only a just wait and see on Worley. Worley could be really outstanding his senior year.

Nope...he's done. Great great kid, but we've got two young guns that are simply better. I think deep down he knows it too.

We are lucky all 4 QB's are hard workers and from what has been written and I have heard they are good guys. Having said that I highly doubt Worley gets back his starting role because he can't and isn't a threat to run, really needed in this offense. Here IMO is how it at least starts next yr. 1. Dobbs, 2. Ferguson, 3. Worley, and 4th Peterman.

The season played out exactly as I said since the preseason. Worley would start until Bama. Then Dobbs would take over.

Worley will never start another game for UT.

The end.

Wow so you predicted Worleys injury? Worley would still be the starter if he didn't get hurt. I like Dobbs, don't get me wrong but our offense would have scored some passing TDs these past couple of games. I am not blaming Dobbs for not producing because he is young and he will get better. But don't act like he would be starting right now, because he wouldn't. Worley would be the starter.

He would have been managing these next 2 if he had not gotten hurt. He didn't actually lose his job to the super frosh.

You're right...he didn't. Jones did everything in his power to save the red shirt for Dobbs....including playing Worley too long and when he was obviously hurt. I'm telling you Dobbs or Ferguson will be our future and honestly one of "them" will probably transfer out once their battle has been settled. There's nothing wrong with rooting for a kid...but we've simply got two QBs that have better skill sets in every area. The cream will always rise to the top and at the end of the day coaches will put the best players on the field. I think Butch wanted to go with Worley this first year (again to save the red shirts) but injury finally changed that plan. The future's bright...and we've got a QB that's pretty bright himself!

Maybe when Dobbs finally gets in the endzone (since he hasn't in 10 quarters) I'll change my tune. Until then, my money is on the experienced QB who beat South Carolina and took Georgia to OT to be the starter next year, not the current freshman who is responsible for Palardy's numbers in the past 3 games.

Have to agree. Dobbs has far from impressed me.

I am rooting for any or all of them. I just think that the game was finally starting to slow down for Worley, and he was gaining some confidence. I believe that his best games were ahead of him, with more game experience and easier opponents.

He had only started 10 games in 3 years, and I thought that he ran the ball pretty well on the few times he kept it. I have wondered if the game plan was not for him to run much, especially due to the backup situation.

1) McCarron is a better game manager than Murray

2) ....no.

Murray is far from a game manager. He takes over games, and lays his health on the line to make sure his team doesn't lose. Besides Manziel, he is the best QB in the SEC, and one of the best in the nation.

So you assume Worley would have lit it up against Bama,Mizzo, and Auburn??? Tell me you're joking.

I didn't assume anything, nor did I allude to doing so. I expected Dobbs to have at least have thrown one measly TD up to this point, and thought he would keep it more on the read option.

I understand some of your logic...but Worley is not a runner. He's not wired that way...and you have to have a certain moxy to want to do it...not to mention Dobbs throws a better ball and has better mechanics even as a freshman. Jones had indicated numerous times that Worley was not taking the opportunities that we're there to run...which is frustrating. This being said Dobbs has had a fraction of the first team reps that Worley's had dating back to fall camp and he's more than held his own. I just don't see Worley winning the starting job back.

Well...he had two TDs simply dropped against Mizzo when the game was still in the balance. The kid can't throw it and catch it too.

You are correct. However Worley has had quite a few TDs dropped this season. If not for those drops, his stats would be much better.

I believe Worley would have put some scores on Mizzou and Auburn. I say that because he has more experience with the offense and more total experience.

I really like Dobbs but if he does not put a passing TD or two against Vandy, then it may be more beneficial to put Worley in if he is healthy.

**** happens. I never said I don't like Dobbs, simply said he had far from impressed me. I'm glad you are so high on him, although I'm not sure why.

100% agree with all of this.

Also he had two dropped sure fire TD's? Cool, so that means those were his only chances at a TD? Dudes argument holds little weight.
