Re: Memphis missing the dance, that's not happening unless Memphis pulls an early-season Memphis and lays down for the remainder of their schedule. Regardless, assuming they grab an 8 seed or so, they'll be doing little to no damage.

What i said was I bet UT lands more of that group than Memphis, then went on to say that Memphis would miss on all 4, that's my opinions. I worded it wrong what I was meaning is I bet memphis lands no more out of that group than UT.

Nichols is going elsewhere as of this moment.

JW3 is up in the air, but I'd put it between Memphis and UK for him.

It's actually 3 hours atleast to NYC, as I said I lived there, driving through Greenwich will take you an hour alone...

And I'm still laughing that your gonna compare the talent in providence, Hartford, new Bedford, new haven and Boston to Memphis. Combine all those cities and it doesn't equal the talent in Memphis get real.

The only talent pool you mentioned is NYC and sorry bust pastner ain't walking in there and taking from lavin and Boheim. You're in for a rude awakening.

Huh?? Pastners first season in Memphis as head coach was without Tyreke Evans. Calipari swayed Cousins to UK and Walls followed. You really don't have a clue what you're talking about. Elliot Williams was the only guy to get drafted and he was okay. Just stop slapping the key board and submitting ramplings. Stay in school or go back. :hmm::nono:

So you don't need to go look it up, Barton was a BMore kid, playing in NH, and Boeheim was pursuing him and had offered him a scholarship.

well everything my account for rivals and scout says is that none of those mention a favorite. according to what im reading king is very open still, he likes memphis but most think he is very intrigued by NC.

hubbs also says in a recent article he has no leader and is still very open. getting a lot of attention from memphis and all the sec schools, and that teams like NC have started taking interest lately, as well as UK coming on strong as of late.

elliot williams is in the league, witherspoon who was on the team is projected draft pick, will coleman was brought in by grizzlies before deciding to go overseas, willie kemp was brought in by nba teams and now is d league.

roburt sallie and doneal mack are both playing overseas.

no this memphis team isnt as talented as these last couple years, but to compare their talent level to this years UT team is outrageous. thats all my point was.

Again, it works both ways. Martin gets a pass for cleaning up after Pearl's mess, but the same favor isn't extended to Pastner for rebuilding after Cal?

And what is this 2 worst years stuff? UT went to the dance 2 seasons ago and had a veteran team with 2 5 star players and Pearl was still there. That was arguably UT's most talented team ever, not one of the worst. None of that changes the fact that Pearl is now gone and not coming back.

The head to head series is at 14-10, which is why I'd like to continue

syracuse wasnt recruiting barton that hard, theres one big factor you're forgetting. syracuse wouldnt bring on antonio, they never offered a scholarship, memphis was one of the few schools willing to .

and thats one player from the state of new hampshire that pastner has ever been able to get.

Witherspoon is not, nor has he ever been, projected as a draft pick.

The closest that Coleman got to the grizzlies is sitting in the lower bowl at the FedEx. Willie Kemp was never brought in by an NBA team.

You're just making stuff up now.

Does not really change anything. The players that can read will leave the city for other schools. Those that can't stay home at Tiger High. Sort of a tradition.

The move to BigEast does nothing to improve any sport. Memphis was on a downhill slide in basketball and that will accelerate even faster in BigEast. Recall that Seton Hall and Providence were once powers and are now doormats.

Pretty soon the football playing schools of the BigEast will leave or will be forced out by the basketball playing Catholic schools. The football teams will basically be old C-USA schools plus, service academies and MAC left overs.

Then Memphis will have a larger travel budget. A less stable conference and will likely be the #4 athletic program in state behind UT, VU and MTSU.

I don't blame the administration. They can only do so much in Memphis and their unrealistic fan base. Memphis is living in Mad Max times. They really need to consider dropping football altogether and concentrating on what they are good at. At least a move to FCS or Division II would do wonders for them for a few decades.

i already told you the only reason pastner got him was because he was willing to take antonio as well. boehim wouldnt offer antonio a scholarship, they wanted to play together. pretty simple concept.

And that matters? UT had scholarshipgate work in their favor for Stokes, but that doesn't bother anyone around here. Antonio is averaging close to 10 pts per game and was a 3 star recruit, something Martin accepts with gusto, so he was never a throw away.
