And hell, if Pastner doesn't work out, we're now in one of the top 3 basketball conferences in the nation, with a program backed by FedEx money, a fanbase that that is top 10 in attendance and a city that's in a recruiting hotbed. We'll have no issues finding a coach.

Coleman and Kemp- Never, ever, ever, ever, ever were on an NBA team. I don't know what "brought in" means, but they've never been close to being on an NBA roster. Ever.

pitino is a hell of a better coach and recruiter than pastner, plus puts more asses in the seats than pastner, and look at the time he's having. his last 2 years there have been anything, but great, that is life in the big east. he experienced some success a few years back and now is having a tough time, and as i said pitino is 10x the coach pastner can dream of being.

memphis will be middle of the pack big east team at best. they will be floating around that 6-8 range year in and year out.

No, it doesn't work both ways. If you think Pastner walked into the same situation that Martin did then not only are you an idiot, you're a blind homer. Martin had the NCAA all over his program and had to try and put together a recruiting class with everyone telling the recruits that UT was going to get sanctions. Pastner never had to deal with that. To try and tie both of them together like they walked into the same situation is laughable. The only thing Pastner had to do is his job. He had zero restrictions facing him. He had to do his job after Slimeball took his own recruits. Martin had a much tougher job in his first year. The two situations aren't even close. Good Lord.

I mean, we get some real pieces of work in here, but that is right up there with the best of them of blind f'n homerism. Congratulations.

And the 2 of 3 years I was referring to was the last 2 years of Pastner's 3 year tenure. Math is obviously not your strongest subject either.

the previous link i provided you shows witherspoon as 2nd round or undrafted. all i said about the other guys was that they were brought in, meaning they were good enough to atleast work out for nba teams.

all this goes back to me saying pastner didnt make the tourney his first year because his roster was depleted. im sorry but if you have 5 guys on your roster that are invited to work out for nba teams, thats not depleted. i guarantee i can go back to that tournament and name 20 teams that didnt have the talent that memphis did.

your really gonna say that a utep team that got drilled by butler in the first round was more talented than that memphis team? really?

thats all the ponit was i was making, that pastners first team was definitely ncaa tournament worthy, and that he didnt get them there thats all.

you were saying memphis was getting the upper hand because they won both games this year, and you said it was comparable to pearl winning the first 2 agaisnt him. that is just not accurate was my point, the talent gap between pastners first 2 teams against ut's teams those years VERSUS the memphis team of this year and the ut team of this year is nowhere near comparable.

pastners first 2 teams were good teams and had plenty of talent to match up evenly with ut, this years team for ut is nowhere near that of memphis. its pretty obvious.

absolutely it really worked out well for josh im not saying that, im sure many coaches are kicking themselves for not offering antonio so that theyd get both. i give josh credit for having the grapes to do it...

i was just saying boeheim didnt get will because josh out recruited him he got him because josh offered antonio and jim wouldnt.

There isn't one thing that UT envies from Memphis. The city is the armpit of the great state of TN. There is nothing that UT envies from that joke of a school. Maybe the ribs, but that has nothing to do with the school. The academics and sports are below anything at UT.

6-8 in the Big East is thankfully, good enough for an at large bid most years.

Your National Champion UConn Huskies finished 9th last season, I believe.

Marquette is doing better than Louisville this season, is that because Buzz Williams is a better coach than Pitino?

no you completely missed the point. its hard being in the big east is the point, that even the best coaches cant win year in and year out that was the point.

- look at jamie dixon this year
- look at calhoun 2 years ago missing the tourney
- look at jt3 missing the tourney 3 years ago

thats my point that even great coaches have trouble in the sec. pastner would fall in as about the 10-12 best coach in the league if that, if these coaches have trouble you can bank he is going to have more than they did.

yes because they won these ooc games:

#2 michigan state
#9 kentucky
harvard
#12 texas
vs tennessee


calhoun took his team and beat these good teams in ooc games. pastner has yet to prove that he can do that. if pastner finishes around 8th in the big east but has no good ooc wins they wont make the tourney. he's either gonna have to start winning some big ooc games, or finishing with a good conference record.

Calhoun missed 2 years ago, and then won an NC. So what? Dixon is and always will be a mediocre coach. JT3 does just enough to keep the GTown alumnus interested.

Memphis sin't going to settle for intersparsed tournament appearances. If it turns out Pastner can't get more than that done, we'll find someone who can.

ok lets use memphis current ooc and uconns current conference schedule and see where memphis would be...

theyd be 10-5 ooc

in conference theyd be lucky to go 7-11:

end of season record 17-15 with NO big ooc wins

thatd be very comparable to 09-10 uconn team who was also 17-15(7-11) and had an ooc win vs #1 texas

point being memphis better schedule some ooc games because if they dont and they schedule 12 cupcake early games and end up 8th or 9th in conferenece they wont make the tourney.

etsu, morgan state, montana, wofford, cornell, vermont, north texas, oakland, murray state, utep, lehigh, uc santa barbara, ohio, houston, new mexico state, n iowa, winthrop, robert morris, sam houston state, siena, arkansas pine-bluff, utah state, old dominion, saint marys.

that would be 25 teams less talented than memphis that year that made the tourney, even though you only asked for 20.
