I wish everybody would quit with this chris peterson talk as well.. Remember Dan Hawkins, he fell flat on his face at Colorado. It's easy to win at Boise State, I think thats a given by now. GO VOLS

the only perception college football has is win games because peple will jump from one team to the other because they are winning. it doesn't matter who the coach is. if bama went from 10-12 win seasons to 8 win season their fan base will implode and call for his head.

I think underestimating what Peterson has done as a head coach is a mistake. Boise has tried to schedule games with big teams, and they have declined. And for the most part when they have played big-named teams, he has won.

He's a hell of a ball coach, no matter the conference.

I agree. CDD will not be fired this year. Yes we have lost 5 games but whoever thought we were going to beat Bama this year is a fool. We should have beat GA, MissSt, and SC but how can you say it is the coaches fault when they are top 10 teams and we are not ranked. We had turnovers in the game that costed us at the wrong time. I say give the coach 1 more year to fix the D and if not then yes there is REASON enough to fire him but my goodness the O was bad last year but it is working better than ever this year. We loose 3 games max next year.

You go after proven winner and take a chance and offer him big money to come and finish the job that Dooley started. Go back and look at Saban's first few years he wasn't winning national championships, yes some will say he was going .500 though, he was learning and he had a .500 in the Big Ten. He has faced a lot of great teams and if you aren't ranked in the top 5-10 how do you expect to beat them when the players on their team are seniors and 5star freshmen and we are playing freshmen and sophmores.

Dooley has a hard time recruiting 3 star recruits forget about Dooley landing 5 stars. Poor recruiting= where we are...it is what it is

Dooley hasn't recruited with the top 5 teams in the SEC Ever....and never will...peroid....poor coaching and a looser

I have looked at the schedule and yes 3 games, GA and SC are at home and with any improvement on the d we win those games next year and would have won them this year with a little better d. We play Orgeon, FL, and Bama all away and the only way we win those is with a greatly improved d.

That's what everybody said about Dan Hawkins and what happend to him??? Dan Hawkins beat Oklahoma and won some games.. Then went to Colorado and appeared to be in over his head, remind you of somebody? Thought so

Dooley has recruited 3 and 4 star players. i agree he hasn't landed a 5 star recruit but when the team starts winning again with those 3 and 4 star players those 5 stars will start coming. like i said before the only perception college football has is wins and losses.

It's not like we weren't ranked because our players aren't good enough. This team has more starting talent than all but 10-15 teams in the country. The fact that we weren't ranked is itself an indictment of Dooley. Dooley's lack of ability to develop players is why we weren't/aren't ranked. I've supported him from day 1 until the past several weeks. He's a great man, but a mediocre-at-best football coach, and is most certainly not the man to restore this program back to the glory it deserves.

With 3 years of loses to GA, FL, SC, AL, (other SEC W)

8 wins with those teams is miserable!

I have a friend who's a Gator. Her dad played for the Gators, the whole family are insane about it, really. They all really like Derek Dooley. Every week I get texts from her about what a shame it is and how she was rooting for us and we wouldn't actually fire Dooley yet, would we?

Newsflash: That sentiment is shared by EVERY. SINGLE. TEAM. that ever has to play UT. If Dooley were at Florida, we would be talking about how much we love him there.

Man, I liked Zook at Florida and he wasn't even that bad. I think he went 1-2 against us.

I'd love Dooley at Florida/Georgia/Bama.
