Dooley Isn't going anywhere!

Today was supposed to be the day.

Big huge announcement about CDD resigning and CJG being the next coach.

Well, we see how that went.

CDD is our HC. Simply not going to change this year or next.

Lets support our Vols and get behind the program.. enough with wanting Dooley's head and what not.

GO VOLS... BEAT TROY!!!!
Pump that crap somewhere else. I am sick of living in the cellar. Until Saturday, only one team in SEC history had started 0-5 in SEC play three straight seasons. Dooley ensured that Vandy would not be alone in that stat, adding UT to that short list. Now, if your happy with that you support our head coach. I am voicing my opinion otherwise!

Bandwagon fan - encyclopedia article about Bandwagon fan.

A bandwagon fan, also called a "fair-weather fan" supports their team only when it is winning. [1] They will often ""jump" on and off the "bandwagon" of the teams having the most recent success in the major professional and college sports. They generally don't care if their adopted team has a bad season, or even a bad game, as they ultimately don't care too much about the team.[2] Boston Herald sports columnist Tony Massarotti equates bandwagon fans to church patrons who show up only at Christmas. [3] Ali Hasnain of the Daily Utah Chronicle calls bandwagon fans, people (who) root for teams or players who they have no clue about. [4]

A bandwagon fan will often leave a game before completion should their adopted team be losing.[5]

A bandwagon fan will cheer for another team than his own if his own team is not doing well enough. [6]

A bandwagon fan will only support “their” team when they are successful, but claim they have always supported them.

Sorry for the late reply guys, kids' homework comes before VN.

so what do you call a fan that just accepts losing, a loser. the AD dept doesn't seem to care about fielding a competitive team, they get what they deserve. fans will stay home and find something else to do, you know like vandy and UK fans. hell ole miss is probably better than we are.

GruVol..

1 more year with CDD.. here is why

Dooley should have an opportunity to compete with his upperclassmen. His first full recruiting class will be upperclassmen next year (Jr's) with a few Sr's that he can claim.

Next season with several upperclassmen to his credit these close games should be W's

My opinion is that CDD gets next year to prove his coaching ability (3 and 1/2 full classes) as a HC. If he fails (no moral victories) next year then its time to move on..

My opinion is that Coach Sal gets canned at the end of the year. This hire has turned out to be a fail hire for Dooley. (yes the Sal hire is a direct reflection on Dooley)

I disagree with all of this. This is his third year, and he still hasn't beaten anyone of merit.

You talk about next year as if these "upperclassmen" will lead to victories. What if guys like Hunter, Bray, Patterson, James don't return? Would you feel more confident in Worley, Dallas, and Pig?

So he needs another year? I think we have seen enough of his track record to see exactly what next year will look like. It may be worse if our best players don't return. Not to mention the fallout of reduced ticket sales, and related monies (concessions, merchandise, etc.)

Fire Sal at the end of the year? Great idea. Let's have another all new defensive scheme to learn next year. Didn't that end up backfiring this year?

It's over.

One thing about this, whatever you think of Dooley's prospects, is that I don't really understand why people are pessimistic about Vandy, Kentucky, or any of the remaining teams. I think we run through the schedule, and do so easily. This team has not quit, and in fact they are probably pissed off, and I just really don't see the threat from Vandy or UK...really not getting it. If we can almost beat USC and Uga on the road, we can handle the Vandys and UK's. Dooley's status can be determined at the end of the year. Let's win some games!

Apparantly you missed last years loss to KY with a WR playing QB. And this year you must have missed the struggle with Akron. With Dools as our coach, Vandy and Missouri are in play.

Uh Tennessee has won 1 sec game in the last 2 years, haven't beaten a ranked team since 09. I'm pretty sure no one can be called a bandwagon fan of a team who hasn't had a winning record since 09

Never, since I have been a member of this board, have I played the "true fan" card or layed the "bandwagon" label on another poster, until now.

You're the third poster to kindly point out that we can't have that type of fan in our current situation. I responded to the other two and got crickets back.

Look up the definition, check out the initial post I quoted and decide for yourself if they match up.

We haven't run through any portion of any schedule as of late with any kind of ease.

We lost to KY last year and Vandy could have very well beat us at home. We have done nothing to distance ourself from the bottom of the SEC.

When your defense is giving up yardage by the mile your gonna have a hard time beating anyone with ease.

Anyone that thought he was gonna be fired with 4 games left in the season was dreaming anyways. If a change is made, it won't be until after the season, barring a loss to Troy this weekend. If he wins out and finishes 8-5 I think he'll be back next year, so don't get your hopes up too much.

Your just being silly now.

Not my fault you posted the very definition...so yeah, that's that.

good day

you can call me a bandwagon fan all you want and i figured you would have this reply. fans protest in there own way and mine is not to give a dime till i see action. obviously yours is to pay good money watch us lose and sit in the stands with a smile on you face. thats working great right now. if you like losing that much hell just travel up to the commonwealth and you can become a UK fan. the only thing the AD dept cares about is revenue, people quit coming they will make changes.

Urban Dictionary: blind homer

How many years would Alabama or Georgia or Florida or LSU....put up with Dooley's SEC record?
That's right not very long.....oh.. we are Tennessee so lets give Dooley another year

Alabama gave Mike Dubose and Mike Shula 4 years each.

Just sayin'

I think the decision has been made, but given where we are right now he will finish out the season and be released/resigned after the UK game. Between now and then his replacement will be targeted and in place shortly after Dooley is made public.
