Dooley sucks (merged)

Bandwagon Vols fans..i hate um. Everyweek i wake up at 3 A.M. to watch my team lose, but i knew the reality of the season from day one. New coach(first year in SEC), young team (still trying to find thier rhythm) but i knew we weren't going to win the BCS from day one! This is a rebuilding year point blank!

what bet was that
I don't think anyone should leave, that's waht great about VN..
Everyone can voice thier opinion

welcome to VN...

Hopefully we learn something from this year, Coach Dooley gets some good recruits and Simms gains that second year confedence....2011 Vols will make it happen! As long as Florida loses today i'm happy! Gators suck!

this did not apply to lsu today...they tried to give us the game with 3 turnovers including an interception in their end zone...we have a team that cant get a half a yard on offense to put the game away. they suck on both sides of the ball and are equally as bad on special teams. this is the biggest joke in tn history and i am ashamed to call myself a vol fan. hopefully the empty seats and the continual losses will wake somebody up that can actually change this situation. "it sucks to be a tn vol".

A. Pick another team so you won't be "ashamed".
B. Try and stick with them until you feel ashamed again...and then switch to another team.

In case some of you guys don't realize it, Dooley wanted the job and not many others were even mentioned as interested. Quite a few turned Hammy down flat out. We love UT but to a lot of coaches our off the field shenanigans and lack of instate talent meant a hard turn around in TN. That is also why USC took Kiffy off our hands...EVERYONE they offered said NO! He actually called and wanted to job. Give Dooley a chance or we may be looking for a good high school coach that would take the job.

That's because they only offered 1.8 million!! Tn should have tripled that!!! This is some no name school!!!!!!!!!!

ok who exactly turned the job down. I think the BOise ST coach said he wasnt interested but other than that who else turned it down the TCU coach..??? Those two coaches would have been crazy to take the job as they have built top 10 teams and would be coming to a rebuilder.. Cutty acted like he did but the truth is that the only two that wanted him here was himself and PF. He wasnt really even considered. Dooley is going to be a GREAT coach and have a Great career here. He gets a pass this year.

i dont think he was even offered the job.. he might have been guaged about his interest but turning it down I dont think he did.

u must have slept during the whole coach hiring process. bc he was the coach that hammy went after and threw big money at, or that's what everyone was saying at the time

Muschamp was a target and he called a friend that was a former assistant at UT. He was told that we had a pot problem the hill , severe discipline problems on and off the field, multiple arrest problems and not enough instate recruits. He told Hamilton he was not interested but he knew who he should go after...that was Dooley. The timing was all wrong for other major coaches to leave without screwing their schools like Kiffin screwed us. Kelly is where he wants to be and would have left us in a flash for ND, so don't be thinking he was our guy. If you expect more than we are getting this year you are delusional. We suck and we will have to get the players to compete.

just gotta give the guy some time. he's inheriting a team that was screwed over by a douche of an athletic director, a coach who couldn't keep his kids under control, and worst of all, a KIFFIN... ...TWO of them, actually...

Muschamp said NO before the official offer was made! They don't make offers until a coach is interested enough to interview, and sometimes more than once. That's how it works!
The world doesn't revolve around UT in the national picture, that's why after Peyton left and after our 98 championship we parlayed it into a big nothing, and Fulmer is responsible for that. We got a lot of great players because they wanted to play with Manning and it has been on the slide since. We have to get our respect back before anyone outside on TN will care.

i think dooley will be fine. some of the younger guys are making plays and w/ the oline getting on the job training every saturday i think we should be ok in 2012. problem is we have fans who think we should win right now. doesn't work that way.

I think he did a great job of salvaging our recruiting class that Kiffin left him. We will have to see what he can do with the next class. Bottom line is if he can recruit as well as they say he can, we just have to give it time. He deserves that. we seem to throw anyone under the bus and that attitude just sucks. He came here to turn this around and looks at it as a destination job, he actually loves the job and he is being treated like Mark Richt in year one, game 5!

I'm tired of that arugement too
Most of our class was early enrollees so there was very litttle chance of them leaving

So Dooley didn't exactly sacrifice to hold onto the class, since most had already enrolled

Well DD
You had a chance to end with a winning record, and blew it with less than 2:00 minutes to go with the lead, for the second time this year

I'm mad at everyone but this has a lot to
do with individual plays and players.

I know but in the end it comes down to coaching

Should Lincoln have made the extra point- yes
Should we have been able to run out the clock with 1:40 left- yes
Should we have been able to stop them from going 55 yards in 31 seconds- yes

Did we- no
