Hey Vol in Il, do everyone a favor and go away

He doesn't have to agree with the hire to be a Vol fan.

Vol_in_Il is a solid member on VN. Some of you should spend a little time in "the pub" forum and get to know people a little better.

Oh yeah, he's also a huge Dave Clawson supporter....:)

gotta go with his record and 17-20 is a loser

Don't sweat it. If he's as bad as some are fearing he'll be run out of town quickly. I doubt anyone, even the lovechild of Saban and Meyer (or Summit and Neyland for UT diehards), could give us an undefeated NC season in 2010 anyway, as much as I'd love to see it. If he goes and sets our all time record for losses (8, which would ruin a surprisingly respectable national streak we have going IIRC) he'll be one and done, and Hammy will be gone with him.

you don't know what the hell you're talking about...quoting a general stat w/out knowing the circumstances
THE CIRCUMSTANCES don't matter when we can a coach for not meeting the standard..so why should it matter when hiring one?

There were a dozen or more that were considerably more qualified. Hamilton said he was their first choice...and you're going to let your blind optimism get in the way of the facts.

These better candidates all turned us down.

then tell me something about him; tell me what you know

I'm just saying let's not jump off a cliff and let's not anoint him the next Saban. We don't know anything about him other than a bio and a 10 minute press conference. Like I said, I'll make a judgment down the road. I'm pulling for him though. I hope he succeeds.

Well I sure hope you never were a fan of Kiffin. 5-15 record speaks for itself lol
Hamilton whiffed on both of them. I remember vividly saying the same things about the prospects of Kiffin's hiring...that there were more qualified guys than him.

Kelly and Wittingham were just 2 of such...One year later, I'll be damned if I'm not right again...and yet Hamilton goes with the low budget pick.
