Dooley sucks (merged)

just got to be able to admit his faults...
like being able to win

Kind of hard to make that comparison when 70% to 80% of your starting and 2 deep roster this past year would be sitting on the bench on 90% of all other SEC schools and we won't even discuss the injuries and strength of schedule.

Just out of curiosity, what is so foolish about what he posts? His posts are generally spot-on, imo.

A here are a few:

“The majority of which were already in the NFL when these current recruits were 12 or 13 years old. Like it or not, the most of these kids coming up remember USC rolling through college football. During that time, Tennessee was consistently 2nd or 3rd in the East. “

“No one wants him to fail. He already has.

The quicker he's gone the better it will be for the program. Stability means nothing if it breeds complacency with 7-5/8-4 seasons.”

“They showed highlights of players they coached? The horror.

They put up pictures of Heisman winners they had a hand in getting the award? Oh my God, what where they thinking?

You sound like a scorned woman.”

“How does a coaching change set Tennessee back further? 5-7 with a loss to Kentucky and 6-7 the year before is bottom. The team took a gigantic step backwards this season. “

Firing a coach after 2 seasons is ludicrous. If Dooley had come in as the coach in say 2005 and had similar results then I would tend to agree with him, fire the guy because that would be severely under performing.

All the talk about it not being a big deal Kiffin pushed USC garbage into every nook and cranny of the program and told recruits "we're gonna make it the USC of the East" is insulting. We have just as proud a tradition as USC and don't need to be copying other schools. That's what high schools and FCS schools do, not major D-1 programs.

Maybe I'm just old school, but having some pride in and respect for that stuff is important to me.

You are mad a coach used his success at a big time program as a sales pitch at Tennessee

Which part of that is foolish?

GBO VFL!!!!!

Is that better?

YES!! LOL.

I really don't have any ill feelings towards you man. I completely disagree with some of the things you say and think some things are totally off. However, individuality is what makes the world turn, right?

I don't mind that Kiffin used his success at USC to recruit here. I'd expect him to. My problem is that he seemed to push Tennessee to the side in favor of USC and there is no point in doing so. Tennessee isn't a stepping-stone job, it's a destination yet he acted like it was the former. We don't need highlights, chants, traditions, jerseys, etc of other schools around here. Our program is just as storied and successful as any out there, we don't need any help in that department and to me it is insulting that he pushed everything that has made Tennessee into the great program it is aside for USC like it is superior.

There's a difference between, "this is what I accomplished and who I coached" compared to "we're going to make Tennessee as good as USC."

Snatching defeat from the jaw of victory against LSU, due to 13 men on the field.

Janzen Jackson.

Celebrating a music bowl victory over North Caro....wait, nevermind.

Hunter goes down to a season-ending knee injury within minutes of the Florida game starting. We wind up losing to probably the worst Florida team in the last 15 years.

Getting curb-stomped by Alabama, LSU, Arkansas.

Partying like its 1924 when we beat Vanderbilt in OT.

Losing to Kentucky for the first time since 1984, when Michael Jordan was a rookie in the NBA.

Doing an about face on the Arnett situation.

Having your best players, Rogers and Bray, cause real concerns about their desire to win and their work ethic.

Having your Defensive Coordinator and most effective recruiter leave 1 month before National Signing day for the same positions at a mid-level PAC 12 school.

Having two losing seasons in a row.

Having a losing record at Louisiana Tech and Tennessee.

Speculation that Kevin Steele is your big Defensive Coordinator hire, right before his offense gives up 70 points in a high profile bowl game. (It could have been a lot, lot worse).

Making 1.8 Million dollars a year for all of the above.

So it's his fault Janzen wouldn't stop smoking pot, his fault Hunter got injured and his fault people on the Internet can't handle fifteen minutes without a rumor? Interesting.
