I trust our coaches not guys who report info they supposedly get from a "source." Guess I am strange that way.

No. Didn't say or imply that.

Simply commenting on the "info" Ainge puts out there. He likes attention and speculates on anything/everything.

I used to enjoy his show when he first started, but now can't listen for more than 5 minutes - he has actually gotten worse.

Well considering the class is going to be full by mid-September to October, that leaves us four full months to worry about signing too many 3*'s, when Preston Williams will flip to UGA (even though he's an EE), and who's going to be asked to look elsewhere even though our coaches don't do that! That's the best part of this circus. :dance2:

Haha, I know right. Matthews doesn't advertise himself as an "insider" or a person with "sources" It is just common knowledge that he is close to the program and knows what's going on in Knoxville. If people don't want to put credence into what he says, that's fine, but they would be missing on actual info. Like I said, wait for coaches to give info on recruiting.........you'll be waiting forever

Gotcha. I'm from Middle Tennessee so I only catch his show about once every two weeks. I don't disagree with you on that point.

Miss on Tuttle and Settle and we wouldnt accept Gibson. The Gibson part I can believe but the first two no I cant.

For the record, I'm not saying I think DM doesn't know anything. I don't think he's correct on everything in the OP, but no one should expect him to be. I just remember over the past few years people saying DM doesn't really have connections in the program like he used to. Maybe they were wrong, maybe he has more connections now with the new staff, or maybe then and now there was a bit of people crediting or discrediting him because it fit with what they thought or wanted to happen.

He didn't go out on a small limb with that one. There's been red flags about Weatherd's grades since November when it became common knowledge that he wouldn't even be able to EE as a JUCO.

He was the first to report it. I remembered half of vn being in denial about it.

He also said that Weatherd wasn't going to make it by second session if he made it at all. He was the academic casualty Matthews was always yacking about.

Right. But I remember people saying he said back in the fall/winter that UT wouldn't sign any non EE JUCO's and they signed Weatherd.

You're correct. I think we were desperate for a juco linebacker. I hope we keep to signing only EE juco from here on out. It's a good rule.
