Also, just recently didn't Matthews says we had either 6 or 8 silent commits? Then he said the 3 that committed during Orange Carpet Weekend were not silents.

Then he names 5 players that we will save spots for. Then hes not sure of who the rest will be, but has some speculation. Are those 5 players he named silents? He also says we will take 2 more LB's, but names 3 who he thinks we finish with.

IMO he stayed with UT after feeling lied to as it was last minute and he does love Tennessee. Had it been 2-3 weeks before NSD and they took Dobbs commitment, I think he likely would have went elsewhere. It was the 1st thing I thought about when news came down he was leaving. I am glad he gave it a go in Orange. I think he does well wherever he ends up.

1 recruit out of 24. The class will be pretty much done by the end of the summer,wouldn't you say?

The # I saw someone saw he mentioned was 6 silent. I think it was said Picou and Smith were not part of those 6. I'd imagine Kamara was.

He then mentioned the 5 UT is holding spots for. He said he felt good about Phillips, McKenzie, and Jefferson. He did not feel as good about Richmond and McGraw.

I suppose that could account for 4 of his 6 claimed silents.

He said they may try to add 2 more LBs and names Sapp and Adkinson. He actually names Sapp twice. Maybe both he thinks are silent? I could see Sapp at least as very likely. That would make 5 silents.

He then says 2 CBs. Ordway, Martin. Could one of these buys be the 6th? Maybe both are and Sapp is up in the air?

I could see it playing out as accurate in the end. JMO

If Gibson has character issues then it's definitely true. And if they told Dormady and Jennings that then I don't think they would lie to them about it.

Doug Matthews is a trustworthy source for the information that I want to believe, but he lies about the stuff I don't agree with.

So many issues around this kid, multiple sources have said not only have we begun to back away but so have other major programs such as Ohio St and Auburn. I had the same thought as you a few weeks ago, but not anymore.

So 2 potential D-Tackles from last class are moving to OL. And we're only going to take Picou and McKenzie in this class????

Why would he have to name his source? I'm not picking on you, because a couple of people in this thread have said the same thing. I guess I'm wondering why he would go out of his way to lie and say he didn't get any of this info from someone inside the program, or someone close to the program(if as you guys think, he actually did). Why wouldn't he just say nothing at all on the subject? There are plenty of ways of disseminating the information without giving up your source, and without claiming you don't have a source at all. People do it all the time. I don't really have an issue with anything he said (though some of it seems inconsistent with things he's previously said, and I don't think he's close to being correct on all of the points and speculation about how the class will finish) in the sense that if it plays out that way I'll be unhappy at all, I just don't follow the reasoning that he just had to lie about where he got the info if he actually has a source.

It is recruiting. What he may have said in the past, could very well change today. Recruiting changes as kids commit, the board changes, and things play out. While I was not a TG fan at QB very early on, I would not have been surprised at all had the coaches taken him at QB. That then changed IMO when the coaches took 2 other QBs.

Shy has UT as his number 1 and I am almost certain he will be a Vol!

Besides it seems like we are taking in a lot of LBs and we really scored big on LBs last year.

TG has absolutely nothing to do with my post. I'm very aware that recruiting is fluid. I guess if you just want to say that, "Well, recruiting changes" anytime someone is wrong, or they give out conflicting info, then you probably don't care about who is generally credible and who isn't. This is a very small part of what I was actually posting about anyway.
