Duke Crews and Ramar Smith Dismissed

From the NY Times article on Crews

"Crews seemed healthy until a echocardiogram he received as part of health screenings administered to all Tennessee athletes found the forward had hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a condition blamed for the sudden death of more than a hundred athletes each year."

I have no pity for Crews. First, he starts out the year by getting suspended by smoking, he gets another chance. Second, they find something wrong with his heart and he may never be able to play again, but, it passes over and he gets to play; another chance. Now, after all these chances he goes and pulls this again?

NEW COACH, I know for a fact that a certain player you mentioned in this thread has smoked weed.

I don't have pity for him, either. I think he also made really bad decisions and deserves the punishment.

That doesn't mean I don't think he had nothing to fight through when he was diagnosed with a serious heart condition.

I'll also throw this out, and anybody who attended UT can agree or disagree: 80%+ of football and basketball players at UT smoke weed.

If you want to dog on Crews for smoking the ganj - be my guest. But don't minimize his other REAL accomplishments because you're biased against potheads.

I'll agree with that.

And at virtually every other school in this country.

It's useless, the above the influence commercials have already brain-washed him
