Duke/UNC Official Thread 2021/2022 (K’s Last Hurrah Edition)

Kansas showing some pride. North Carolina taking some questionable shots to start the half.

Caleb Love was awful tonight. He had no business hoisting up 23 shots. Some of those shots should have been Manek's.

That one hurts, no doubt. But the toughness and heart they showed on this run is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Proud of that team…fighters until the end.

My knock on Love has always been that, when he isn’t feeling it he takes way more shots than he should. I know he couldn’t on the final shot, but the only thing he should have been doing tonight was driving to the lane.

Absolutely a selfish game form Love tonight.
That being said complete meltdown from Carolina..

That's what was so frustrating for me. I thought UNC could win every game they played in this tournament (even against Baylor I was confident) but this was the first game I thought we were outmatched (particularly with Bacot's ankle injury) And yet, we should've won.

Way too much iso and jacking-up low-quality shots. Johnson came off the bench and kept us in it during the 2nd half, but Love played terrible. Don't know why we kept rushing bad shots with a double-digit lead.

Still, I'm proud of my Tarheels for making it this far. Everyone underestimated them this year and they proved them wrong. Beat 3 of the best teams in the country to make the final. And honestly, the Finals loss wouldn't be that painful if we didn't have the game in hand and blown it in dramatic fashion.

Congratulations on a good season Heels. You certainly surprised the basketball world. I don’t think even the biggest UNC fan could ever have imagined what was accomplished over the past 6 weeks.

Now it’s on to a new era in the rivalry. One that doesn’t involve either Dean Smith or Coach K for the first time since 1961. Pretty crazy to think about in those terms.

Holy s**t.

I guess we have no choice but to trust Scheyer, but would’ve preferred a different route here. Is Schrage known as an elite recruiter or developer of talent? He had a terrible record at Elon but I have no context for that job. I know he has Duke ties, but this doesn’t strike me as a wow hire.
