EA College Football, 2024 (PS5/XSX)

Do you feel like you’re trying to make a sale to a person? I don’t. It’s just a puzzle that needs to be solved to break the game.

Last night, I tried replicating Creeker’s recipe (post #1,277) and I had immediate success, getting five 4-star players and a couple gem 3-stars to verbally commit just upon scholarship offer in week 1. Getting 7 of the 35 recruit spots filled freed up a ton of points to win other recruiting battles. I’m still having trouble getting a 5 star to keep me at number one as it narrows down.

I have not figured out when the sales pitches become available. I feel like I’m clicking around so much between menus is why I miss some things. It would be nice if a split screen option was available to compare recruiting needs vs recruiting board. I’ll quit before I start typing a spread sheet over a video game again.
Oh its not perfect, but I am enjoying the recruiting more than I did in 14 and back to 99 when they first had recruiting in the game. I feel like I am selling to the player with getting his priorities unlocked with constant visits with the house or whatever and then pitching them for those things with a hard sell. I just personally enjoy it, but thats just my opinion.

Now that you said that, I feel kind of sleazy. You just described trying to get laid. If you can sign the top recruiting class, then you’re a player. 😂

Small cosmetic things that I wish were a little different. The ability to control the temperature outside during exhibition games.Im a big weather nerd, so I’ve always liked stuff like that. Dynamic lighting. I’d like to see the lighting change during a 3:30 or 6 pm kickoff. I also don’t need “Sandstorm” playing in Neyland Stadium. Ever. Those are just some very small, inconsequential things that I noticed .
Liked for getting Sandstorm the hell outta Neyland.

I created 5 20 team conferences, reviving the PAC moving all the PAC teams back in where they belong. I have noticed that I am halfway through the season and the PAC hasn't even had the first in conference game. All of their conference records are 0-0. I'm wondering if it bugged out somehow.

What plays does everyone run to stop the pass everything I try I get picked apart especially with liberty lol, I held Penn state to 37 and then I beat New Mexico State 64-57 , feels just like madden no defense on all American and heisman.

Did you set the number of conference games in the conference rules section?

I have trouble with running QBs when the play breaks down. I think I'm in good shape with a 3rd and long and QB takes off and gets a first down. Arkansas' QB killed me doing that.

I was playing online and was beating a guy using bama then he just started running milroe and I was powerless. The crappy Tennessee playbook doesn’t have any spy defense and I’m not sure how to do contain on ps5.

Hell no I didn’t try that lol. Didn’t even know it was an option
It might be set to 1 conference game per team then since that’s the default for the 2 team PAC lol I’ve not tried it to be sure but might be the issue.

Just played my first game. Won 61-21 over Boise State on varsity difficulty. Wasn’t really sure what difficulty to go with because I heard this one was harder than previous games in the series. Might play a couple more games on varsity against better teams and amp the difficulty up a bit after that if I fare well in those games.

I'm on Dynasty for App St. and just finished playing. Despite throwing 5 picks,I was somehow able to beat South Alabama 38-34. I've learned to run the ball a little more in this game. It's fun,but a learning process.

Yeah, once you get to All-American and Heisman, it gets really challenging. It's good to have fun with it on Varsity mode.

Running feels good and not too over powered. There’s times where you need to be patient for a hole to open. I like the new passing as well.

But holy balls is defense hard as hell to play. I’m playing in All American and it’s tough 💀

Cant get it until Friday but i watched a buddy of mine play it some. There are some baffling omissions regarding some of the stadium intros. Like for USC, why doesn't it show "Traveler" ride in on the white horse before he plants the sword at midfield? Also for Oklahoma, no Boomer Sooner wagon? Really? Also no Enter Sandman for Virginia Tech.
Enter Sandman was because they didn't want to pay the licensing fee.

The CPU purposely tanks your recruiting. I won the national title, set up my recruiting list with top prospects who were all choosing me top 3, if not 1st. I even spend some points to force the issue.

After I skip to preseason (because I have a job and need to sleep), I find out that the CPU has removed most of the targets and has replaced them with mostly 3 stars who aren’t interested.

I don’t have time for this ****. You don’t even get the generic feedback from recruits. It all comes across as completely random.
In the old game there was a setting where you could turn CPU recruiting assistance on or off. It would let the CPU change your board, offer scholarships, or schedule visits. Might want to see if that is on and turn it off.

The option is still there and has been on by intention.

What I want is for the CPU to leave the points I have allocated alone and spend any extra points as players commit and more points become available. There should be a lock function on the recruiting to keep the CPU from meddling.
