lol:lol:Simple we dont have enough SEC TALENT, and we want till 2 to 3 years every one on here knew that but you.
Whatever happened to getting the most out of the talent you have? If your system is not working then adapt. You say that this year doesnt mean anything....just throw it away. Tell that to people who bought season tickets or the Seniors on the football team that are playing their last year of football! You play to win every game you can! You dont hold anything back. Play the FROSH qbs Butch! Your a lost helmet or qb injury away from making your redshirt decision anyways!

Aren't you that guy that mentioned bringing Kiffin back? Yikes!
Butch has put himself in a no win situation. If Worley does go down and one of the freshman come in and do really well, the the fans will be saying you should have be playing the guy all along. If he comes in and sux they'll be saying you should have gotten him some time earlier.
IMO the single absolutely inexplicable move was keeping Peterman in after he began to decompensate (around the first play or so).
Close runner up is starting Peterman in the first place.
All the rest can be debated based on personnel, circumstances, etc.

I have no doubt that Butch and his guys can coach. I also have no doubt that there is a big learning curve for the kind of competition they are facing now, as well as the type of fan base they are dealing with. This year will be a bit on the ugly side due to the learning curve issues, as well as a really notable lack of talent to do battle with. But I do believe that if they can pull the talent in here consistently for 2 or 3 classes we will see a big difference. I trust them because of their past history. No, they havent had a rebuilding job like this to deal with before. It will be a climb but Butch will get us there.
Exactly. You shouldnt have to run a fake FG against a team that (1) is in their first full year in FBS; (2) lost to Southern Utah this year; and (3) was playing Hargrave Military Academy a few years ago. This team has not progressed enough to take on this upcoming schedule. I like Coach Jones, but disappointed his staff didnt make key adjustments to the attack put on in the second half by USA. I hope that they can get it figured out this week from Sunday to Friday so that it shows on Saturday.

I can not say bad coaching, but there are some problems here. Either our system is too complicated for the 2 freshmen or our staff has failed to simplify it to allow the QB's and receivers to grasp the system.
With the quality of QB play that we have to this point I can see only one more possible win on the schedule, Kentucky. But even the Wildcats have gotten better from the beginning of the season to this point.
I will concede that game 1 versus Austin Peay was a well played no penalty football game. Everyone saw that Worley was going to struggle. Nobody got meaningful snaps at back up qb.
game 2 Worley continues to show signs of not performing at sec levels and still nobody gets meaninful snaps at qb.
game 3 you absolutely got hammered by a much better opponent and worley continued to show he could not make it happen....Peterman gets mop up duty vs Oregons 3rd string.
game 4 in the swamp you finally decide it is time to change qb......but you havent given the back up any meaningful playing time.......it backfires and you not only get burned you hold your hand to the fire the entire first half when a Florida team was begging for you to beat them.
game 5 the team starts off great and has a 31-7 lead in the first half...your qb throws 3 picks and gives the little South Alabama team life....then you try a fake field goal which looks like it would have worked but your team didnt execute. You have to punt the football in that situation. Palardy has been good to this point and by that decision you prolly destroy his confidence and give the other team great field position.
Summary we are 3-2 and all of us thought we would be 3-2.........but guys I dont see a football team that is improving from week to week.........we seem to be getting worse and the next few games are going to be brutal.
I find myself agreeing with northknox on some points. We could play to the strengths of the offense and play a spread pass attack vs this read option. I think it gives us a better chance to win now. Worley is a much better drop back passer where he can set his feet and scan the whole field. When your running left or right you are only playing half the field and when you are not a natural runner its hard to stop and set and deliver. If you want an example of changing the system to meet your personnel see Urban Meyer with Chris Leak. He adjusted and won, then when Tebow came along (ala Ferguson or Dobbs) he began running his offense. I'm not a coach but I am a people manager and you play to the strengths of your people until you build your own team. Its frustrating to me the bullheadedness of this offensive staff. I am very pleased with the defensive coaching.
