Evidently TDOT doesn't think anything will come of this advisory...haven't seen any pretreating of the roads...there was a good little patch of blue earlier but it was broken up by the plateau

But Memphis will be the place to receive a dusting.
This is the last thing I will say on next week's system, because I want to wait until Thursday to start discussing it more. Tennessee won't be the only state in the South that needs to bookmark this system. Alabama, Georgia, and the Carolinas could also be seeing a significant snowstorm (and potentially an ice storm in some places).
Wow, Knox County schools are closed today. I'll say this, their closing policy is a lot less strict then when I was in school. When I was a kid, Knox County was always one of the last schools to close. Hell, there were times when every county except Knox County was closed for the day. There literally had to either be a Winter Storm Warning, snow/ice covered roads on most back roads and some main roads, or a flu outbreak for Knox County to close.
Nowadays, if a meteorologist says the word snow, Knox County closes.

As pointed out by another, the supt has a lot of pressure on him with the bus wrecks lately. Last year a child died in a bus accident and just last week there was another wreck. You know that has to play into his decision big time.
