I hate hyped up snow drizzles

Yeah..they aren't doing well this year....I've seen these systems tons of times...clipper...moisture starved...wiped out by plateau..looks like VK and me were pretty spot on in regards to totals...another chance next week!

For the southern valley I think we will see some snow showers for the next few days with little or no accumulation...1-2 in upper ET and on the KY border,3 inches on the plateau, 4-6 inches in the mountains

Looks like the plateau killed most of the precip..we did catch a good snow shower that came from the north and got almost 2 inches in JC..really bad wreck in front of the Tony's in Straw Plains on 11-E looked like 5 cars and they were all over the place..probably have to close both sides for a little while...thankfully it didn't look like anyone was seriously hurt...but probably 3 nice cars were totaled.

It's been snowing steadily on the plateau all morning. The radar just never picks it up on events like these when the system comes out of the north. We have around three inches here right now. It's like it hits the plateau and just sits here all day instead of continuing eastward.

I know I said I wouldn't talk about the next system anymore yet, but I need to give the folks in the Valley of East TN a warning about what may possibly happen:

There's a chance (not saying it will happen, but it's a possibility) that instead of a Significant snowstorm, we could see a Significant Ice storm, especially for the valley. I'm praying and crossing my fingers that it stays snow.

Ok, I've hesitated asking til now...what's the rough timeline for this thing? I'm flying on Monday...

What about for the Plateau? I figure it's too early to put too much stock into the next system. It very well could be a rain event this far out right?

It could turn to rain, but there's going to be so much cold air in place before the storm on Saturday and Sunday that I have a hard time seeing it turn to an all rain event.

OK thanks. I just hope it's not another ice storm for us either. Around the same time last February we had a huge ice storm and no power for a week. Never seen it this bad here.

I think everyone would be ecstatic to see the following model run come true, lol.

12z GGEM (Canadian) fantasy run:

Interesting fact:

Next Tuesday is the 1 year anniversary of the ice storm. We could see another big winter storm around the same time, lol.

The GFS recently picked up the storm, while the other models (Euro, UKMet, GGEM, ect) have had it for a few days now.

Something I noticed watching Aldrich last night on this he said "who gets more snow, us or Atlanta" and then said thats how low this would push.

I could handle that.

I laughed Sunday night when the wife and I was watching Todd Howell at 6pm. He was talking about the storm thats here now and hit his button and a model run come up showing 5.9 inches and he clicked it real quick and apologized and said that was a model run for next Monday. Lol
