Anyone follow WxSouth on Facebook? If not I highly suggest it. They are usually pretty good about tracking the weather and providing detailed info. Their last post goes into lots of detail on this storm.

Yeah, Robert is a really good meteorologist.

Less snow in the valley than Fri 12z model. GFS and GGEM seem to be converging. Western North Carolina looking to get impressive amounts of accumulation.

I'm thinking whatever we get in snow comes early..Sunday into Monday..but that could be 3-6 inches..it probably turns into a slushy mess later though..so get your pics early!

I have a Jeep so making it around Knoxville this morning was not a problem.

However, I did notice that the roads got considerably worse in West Knoxville starting about 7:30 and they quickly escalated on neighborhood and secondary roads. I have a feeling many left their homes and were caught by surprise by how quickly the roads deteriorated. I saw several cars stuck and in the ditch.

I went out this morning at 7am to run a quick errand. There was a good amount of snow falling and sticking on the cars but nothing was sticking to the road at that point. I check the weather and it said it was 33 degrees, ok made sense. The temp must have dropped a degree or two between 7am and 9am or the road finally cooled off. Very strange.

Yeah. This is looking like a system where it will thump everyone with heavy snow early, then mix with sleet and freezing rain, then change to all soaking rain. Flooding will probably be an issue. Then after that system moves out, we will see another clipper move in Tuesday evening.
