Alot of the winter systems did the same last year allowing the warm gulf air to come up and keep it rain for us. Agree, I like it being shown below us a week out.We're getting a suppressed look right now for the system next Friday (meaning that the system is staying south of us for the most part). That is actually a good thing at this time. The reason is because since the beginning of December, systems have moved more north than what the models have shown. The temps shown by the latest model runs have been pretty cold as well.
It's a dream. 9-16 inches of snow would be like blizzard of '93, though I think the numbers were even higher than that. They'd have to to declare a state of emergency for the entire state of North Carolina too if that model holds up.
