You really want the models to start agreeing on the track before we start getting too excited.

However.

I have accumulating snow in my forecast.

If you are a David Aldrich fan I would start listening to him soon.

The GFS is the only model showing that juicy of a storm. Still need to see more consistent runs.

I like aldrich. Not necessarily for accuracy, more because he seems to enjoy the optimism like most of us.

You guys are fantastic.

The long term GFS is like the girl you fall in love with in April knowing she will break your heart by June :)

The GFS is snow, but the Euro and Canadian are dry.

Add the UKMet to the Euro and Canadian model runs. The only other model that supports the GFS right now is the GFES (its own ensembles). The EPS (Euro ensembles) supports a middle of the road solution between the GFS and the Euro.

It's still too early to have a lot of confidence in what will happen. I wouldn't take any model runs at this time as gospel.

WVLT had my area (Jeff County/Hamblen) getting up to 2 inches thru Saturday....I'll take it!

18z GFS is starting to trend towards the Euro. Not a good sign, but the system is still in the Pacific, so there's still time for it to change.I think by Wednesday, we'll start to have a really good idea of what we'll see.

The 0z Euro run tonight will be interesting to watch. If it continues to suppress the system to our south, that'll be 3 consistent runs.

Yeah. I saw that. A lot of variables are going on right now.

Last year was pretty bad for snow. We struggled to get to around our average snow amount.

Yup.

How are the Euro ensembles holding up? Are they in agreement with the Euro? The GFS aren't all in agreement so we all should caution model hugging at this point.

Anyone predicting more than 4 inches right now is crazy tbh. I'm in the range of 1-2 for most of the Valley but it'll all depend on the track.

Echoing what someone already said, but thanks to those of you that cover this. It's fun to follow, and I've enjoyed learning about this stuff through you guys.

I definitely enjoy reading all the posts. Seems like this system won't do much for the valley, but winter is young

It would be great to see some snow but I'm skeptical for any measureable snow...temps this week are in the 60s so I think the ground will be too warm
