Eight years and no titles...

First of all, your claims to be the defender of Fulmer's personal honor suggest to me a classic manifestation of Quixotic behavior which is often brought on by a delusional disorder such as schizophrenia. That coupled with the fact that you are so quick to verbally fly off the handle and attack people suggests to me that you are a potential danger. All of this is just my opinion, maybe you're just goofing around trying to stir the pot? At any rate, the tendancies that you exhibit in your posts raise some red flags to me.

Second, the "conscience of the Vol nation" is supposed to be a humorous allusion to former klan member Robert Byrd being dubed the "conscience of the senate" and it came up after the recent elections. Sorry I do not limit my study of current events to what's the daily blue plate special at the local meat-and-three.

Finally, as stated by another poster, most of my 15,000+ posts came from a contest last year. Maybe if you had been a registered user you'd have known of it or participated. I do find it intriguing that such a disciple of Coach Fulmer and UT football did not stumble upon the best non-pay UT fans site in the web until you did. I have no problem stating that I came looking for people to commisterate with after the '05 UF loss. What took you so long?

This is fruitless, and I shouldn't even bother.

First off I don't "claim to be the defender of Fulmer's personal honor". I have typed that I will NOT allow uninformed people to spread lies about someone they know nothing about. Had I never met Phil and if I were sitting infront of a shrine to him, your arguement might hold weight. But it doesn't. You know nothing and I mean NOTHING about who I am, and what my situation is when it comes to Coach Fulmer. It's totally amazing to me that people that never meet or take the time to get to know someone would spend hours, days, weeks and months running him down. THAT is cause for concern, not this rediculous "red flag" BS that you are copy and pasting from the new england medical journal. Oh, and please link me to the sound files on here where I "verbally fly off the handle". LOL Ever stop to think that maybe, just maybe you are reading my typed words in such a way that you add emphesis to the things that you need to add emphesis to in able to fit your little diagnosis of me?

Defend it all you want, but your self serving title, regardless where it comes from, tells me and all the other posters all they need to know about you. You are pompus and feel like your way is the only way. I hate to tell you, that isn't the case. You've had a sheltered life to this point if you think simply because you type it from your fingers, it somehow is correct, or means anything to the person on the other side of the screen.

I honestly can not believe you are trying to say that I am somehow suspect as a fan because I have been here for less time than you. That goes back to your own egotstical agenda. You unknowingly ripped every new poster on this board. Everyone that has signed up after you, is now somehow less of a poster, less of a Volfan than you. Good Job. I should have simply let your own words continue to do you in, because no one could make you out to look worse than you do yourself.

Oh, and you first posted here after a LOSS......why does that NOT surprise me in the slightest. A negative poster comes here after a loss.....I'll bet those first posts were some respectful, insightful pieces of literary genius!

I eagerly await your attack filled response where you tell me how I attack YOU personally and you just can't take it anymore; how I have attacked your very moral fiber and have broken your moral compass. How I have again "verbally" attacked you to the point that I must go. A post filled with psychobabble telling everyone to cross over to the other side of the information highway when they see me coming. Oh, I can't wait until those words flow like the nectar from the Gods, from your gently worn fingertips and onto your monitor. How I wish I were there to see them first, just before you click submit and make everyone that reads them, just little bit misty-eyed. :zeitung_lesen:

OS, I am more convinced than ever that you are a complete basket case. Most of your post does not even directy address the points that I raised/made. Sadly, I am going to have to put you back on my ignore list and I strongly encourage everyone else to consider doing the same as seem to be an insidious troll. God, I hate to think what happens when your wife disagrees with you about something.

Goodbye sir!:salute:

There IS a God! :good!:

Semantics. Im discussing things that didnt happen that easily could have. Youre discussing things that happen that easily could not have happened.

The point I was trying to make is that I think the breaks evened out this year. We got some breaks in the games I mentioned, and didnt in the games you mentioned. So I dont think its warranted to say "Oh well, we were a couple plays from 11-1" because the converse is also true.

It was not a discussion I started, but thankyou for trying to point out the similarities. We'll just have to agree to disagree. The "could not have happened" is not what I stated. What I stated is that the refs screwed up and most likely cost the Vols 2 games. There is no "it did" or "did not" happen. The refs plain and simple blew 2 calls.

Volbreaker??????

The college fball world has changed. Nobody will be king of the hill for too long, but there are very few who can be more proud than we can of our Vols. PLEASE JUST DON'T TAKE ME BACK TO THE MAJORS YEARS....or the Battle years, ect.

Please Explain this comment and correlate with USC's continued success.

USC plays in one of the weakest conferences in the country. They lucked out in 2003 and did not have to play LSU. They lucked out again in 2004 and did not have to play Auburn. They lost in 2005.

I will take a hammering for saying this...but Auburn would have challenged USC that year. It was a stroke of luck for the Trojans that they drew OK in that NC game.

no way.... should you take a hammering for that. i won't say Aubie would have beaten the Trojans, but you're right, they definitely would have challenged them that year

I do not want to debate the stengths of the conferences ut you brought it up. The way I view the pac 10 is a whole lot of offense with average at best defense.....

However, USC did manhandle Arkansas who blew the Vols off the field. USC also waylaid the Domers....

What will you say if the Trojans end up playing Ohio State in the Nt Ch and win??????

I also agree that Auburn would have made a better game of it and may have won the game but they did not get their shot.

But I will say this.....USC would b**** slap the Vols this year.

You mean 9-3? Where we are right now is where we were at the end of the CJM era. Coach Fulmer took over a top 15-20 program and, for a few years during the mid 90s, elevated it to a top 5 program. Since then it has gone back to being a top 15-20 program again. Does that mean that we need a new coach? IMO not right now, but I also thought it was wrong to run off Coach Majors.

Johnny did a great job to get us to that level, but it was time......it may not have transpied in the most appropriate fashion, but it was time

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one. If the main knock on Fulmer is a lack of championships, then consider that CJM had 3 SEC championships in his last 7 full seasons, including back to back in 89 and 90.

Had Florida ended up losing to us, they would be saying the same thing about the punt return they had called back. If we could ever fix our special teams problems, this might not have happened, because UT's chances of winning would have been much better.

There was a coach right before Majors that we run oft too soon.

That's a good point.

By far the best thing Majors did was hire good assistant coaches. He had staffs that were superior to anything CPF has assembled, esp. if you look at the demand for coaches off those staffs. It seems no one else ever wants our coaches -- the REAL reason we've had such "continuity."

But I think it's fair to say that CPF elevated the general stature of the program beyond what CJM had done to that point.

We have not had a GREAT football team up in Knoxville for 4-5 years. But Phil will continue as the coach until he repeats what he did in 05 or fails to loose an SEC Title within the next 2-3 years. His contract only keeps him around if he's winning. Mike Hamilton is no dummy and knows what kind of money is invoved in those championships.

you wont get hammered from me.

there is no doubt in my mind that Auburn would have been a much better game and deserving opponent then Oklahoma was.

What was time? Everyone gauged "the time" by the first part of the season that year.
The year before? 9-3
The year before that? 9-2 (SEC Champs)
The YEAR BEFORE THAT?!?!? 11-1 (SEC Champs)

With results like that, I wish it was still "time."
