Electric Vehicles

No idea. I just thought my brisket was good. Much better than a road meal at your typical fast food place.

My opinion doesn't count though, because I giggled my ass off on the Tesla one hour west knox road tour (Mourfield-Ebenezer-Keller Bend-Tooles Bend) I drove while waiting to pick up my daughter from dance. Evening is a dangerous time though... freaking deer everywhere!

Yeah, but you can sneak up on them. Not sure if that's a good thing or not; I've always wondered if deer are just not smart about roads or are waiting in ambush.

In your position I have to say I might be inclined to make the same decision you did about an EV ... especially the acceleration part. I think they can be a great commuting option, but I'm just not sold on them because so many people don't have the option for a commute and a travel car, and that to me is where it all breaks down. The other part is I tend to rebel when someone - particularly the government - starts pushing me in a direction even if I might have gone that way on my own.

Only on VN can an electric car thread devolve into a discussion on gas station brisket and sushi

We're just flexible and willing to expand our thought/reasoning ... alternative thought matters. Besides the consequences of gas station brisket or sushi might be a life or death situation if making the wrong choice between EV or gas.

If your car made any noise the deer would have fair warning. You need to play some good ol boy music at full volume so the deer know they are in trouble.

Caption this photo:

Vehicle Owner forgot to recharge at home : Man has business / Business provides road-side fuel recharge : Vehic Owner (off to right of photo, not seen in photo) shops at Whole Foods and Nordstrom's while she waits for recharge.

This is good example of free-trade / honest commercialism.

$50 service charge, for hands-free roadside fill up. $50 for the next 250 miles of range (sure, a slight Premium paid for roadside service, but the Owner simply forgot to fill up at home and Owner was able to fulfill her shopping obligations during the fill-up and Business Owner is profitable (he's walking to his other 4 Customers around the corner, to be sure everything's fine there = $250 revenue and only 8-10 gals of fuel ).

Next example.

Agree 100%. E cars are for saving money on commuting and hauling ass.

Here we go / more and more applications ; this is no different, for example, than Hilton having on-site full-service diesel or gasoline (or hydrgon) fill-ups for Guests, as soon as they pull up off the Highway (Guest wouldn't have to drive to the BP).

We're talking innovations / the things that practical, logical engineers involve themselves in.

Some 2,000 Hilton locations in the United States, Canada, and Mexico will welcome Tesla’s Universal Wall Connector charging points, with 20,000 chargers delivered in total.

6 chargers per hotel. I see some fights in Hilton’s future.

Wonder how long it'll take the tractor trailers to charge.
