I always find it interesting to note that no one brings up the fact that you, I, BPV, NYY, etc. lauded the change in style and had nothing but overwhelming positive things to say about the NCAA run.

You just kept saying "you don't buy rings for losing." I and the rest of the world with the slightest bit of common sense are saying the rings were bought because we won enough games to get to the E8. If you've been trying to say we don't deserve them because we didn't win the NC, the rest of us are saying that UT making the E8 is a championship in itself. No one can argue that we won the NC, but it's perfectly reasonable to reward the best UT squad in a history that has spanned 100 years. C'mon man.

I wasn't aware that the only reward for what we deem "a successful season" are rings. Interesting.

Yes, I understand your stance in that regard. But you know it was more than just a "successful season". I would find it much harder to reward the 07-08 team with the better record, as opposed to last season. Since we made it to where no UT team has gone before, they were congratulating more than just a "successful season".
