Elite 8 rings

It's all becoming clearer now. I wasn't aware of this fact. Maybe he should write up another thread crying about how people are being "mean to him."
I hope there's a holding cell for deleted threads. I'd hate to think his whiny tome about the discrimination on VN is lost forever.

Yes, I understand your stance in that regard. But you know it was more than just a "successful season". I would find it much harder to reward the 07-08 team with the better record, as opposed to last season. Since we made it to where no UT team has gone before, they were congratulating more than just a "successful season".

It was a great run, no doubt. I just think rings are reserved for champions, so I think that buying rings for less than that is stupid. That's my whole point.

Apparently we have considering we are finding it hard to understand how a ring that says Elite 8 is somehow synonymous with a championship.

No, no one is finding that hard to understand except you. That's truly shocking, isn't it?

You did say "it seems like they are pretending to be champions"

Pretty sure that's what he is referring to.

Thanks for the interpretation. I said that because for the 1,000,000th time because rings in sports are for champions.

According to you or the sports world?

Asking for proof again? Classic. I would think that anyone with a modicum of knowledge of sports would accept that rings are synonymous with championships.

But, as you have already shown, it's a completely different story in the hardware store business.

I just want to know how you can equate a ring that says ELITE 8 on it with somehow winning a championship.

He's just saying there's no reason, at all, for rings unless you win a championship. I don't think he cares that it says "Elite Eight" on it, it's just the notion of receiving rings at all without a NC. It's a valid argument; you and I disagree with Law in that we think the reason for UT getting the rings is justifiable.

Really? Because as seen Baylor didn't think so, TN didn't think so, the runners up in the World Series and Superbowl do not think so. So once again how is a ring that has on it ELITE 8 synonymous for a championship? You do realize the world national champions or champions on a ring is much more important to the player than the ring itself? You are putting emphasis on the ring when it is what is on the ring that is significant. Yet, you can't see that.

Can you imagine how many "Division Championship" rings Pat Riley and Phil Jackson have laying around?
