Enough with this outcoached BS narrative

How do you scheme around your Oline getting their asses handed to them? I kind of agree with you though, I thought Bama had way more talent but they didn’t adjust to stop us. Georgia had more talent and they had a good game plan.

Both are simply true. We were out talented but also outcoached. I think some people don’t realize both can be true. To answer your question, I don’t know. I’m not a coach. But to me it didn’t really seem like the play calls changed much, maybe screens or quick slants? Didn’t see a whole lot of that. Yes some plays Hooker simply had zero time, but at least half the time he just held the ball way too long.

You know what makes a good coach? Dominating in the trenches. They can make any team look like this.
Pretty much. Great talent makes decent coaching look exceptional. Talent differential makes the small mistakes magnified. Teams like Bama and Georgia have much larger margins for errors. That’s not to take anything away from Kirby and Georgia. They had an exceptional game plan for Tennessee. Didn’t care about holding or PI they were going to be physical with WRs and hit Hooker and see what we would do. When we started to get on and start firing on offense they would have an injury that held us up as well.

I mean I wouldn’t disagree with you there. Hooker definitely could have helped himself some. To be fair our wide receivers did get open a few times for big gains if Hooker gets them the ball. I’m guessing Heupel thought eventually Hooker would hit a few of those but he just didn’t.

This uga team in last 4 years Has finished w 3 #1 classes and one #5.
Our average is overall 17 NOT counting transfers.
This outcoached narrative is so dumb and misinformed it’s preposterous

Just wait till we get those 22 “guys” that Pruitt was talking about, “in here”.

Bama has lost twice and won 2 others on the final play. I’d say their margin for error isn’t what it once was.

We finally faced a very talented and very well coached team. We arent done yet and need some help but we simply didn’t match up well and they executed. That 75 yard punt was a back breaker that rippled thru a couple more possessions
I actually thought that was the play of the game. After the safety that wasn't, it felt like UGA smelled blood and their players ramped it up.

We were out personeled. NOT outcoached. What would you have done differently if you were Heupel?
Did you see the speed at which Georgia defenders collapsed on the ball carrier and how well they made tackles? The same plays that in previous weeks went for 10 to 15 yards were getting five yards tonight. As a result we stayed behind the chains all night and never got to unleash the tempo. Did we even have a rush for more than 10 yards tonight?
Good point here. There were hardly any missed tackles by UGA, if any at all. And the relievers were blanketed.

What a stupid post. We were out coached in every phase of the game
So, should we just get rid of this staff? This is game 22 of a staff that took over a 3-7 team led by a truly bad coach. Even being in the NC conversation, little less being ranked #1 for any length of time is extremely unexpected. What is your expectations of the AD in relation to this staff?

We were out coached and out played. No doubt about it. But if they shrug it off and win out it will still be an outstanding year. Im not sure about Hooker's heisman chances though.
I would say the Heisman is off the table unless we back into the playoffs. We still have a chance at that after some of the other games yesterday.

If anyone watched the Peyton Manning led Colts teams from 2002-05 this felt exactly like watching the high flying Colts offense travel up to Foxborough in the Playoffs only to get out-physicalled on by sides of the ball . The Colts figured it out and overcame it. So will we.

We played a very good team in a tough environment. It is beyond shortsighted to blame Heupel. If you told anyone before the season our only regular season loss would be a 14 point loss to UGA at UGA we'd have all taken it without question with a huge smile on our faces.

I agree. Georgia simply has better players especially along the line of scrimmage which is where it matters most. We have some really good skill players but that doesn’t matter if the QB isn’t protected and the opposing QB has all day. Kirby is a great coach but switch the rosters and Heupel would look just as good if not better.

Both things can be true:
1. We match up poorly with Georgia
2. We can beat anyone else

Why does this mean we were outcoached? Or that our players are bums?

I'm sure the staff feels there were mistakes made. We just didn't play well and UGA looked bigger stronger faster than we did. Was still fun to be in a game like that in November. Especially in year 2 of a rebuild of a dumpster fire. Getting too worked up over this loss is crazy to me.

Banks has got outcoached in every game except UK. Offense should've adjusted and stopped running condensed formations on 3rd and short running into the teeth of their defense and should've used the quick game more.

We can still have a great season but this was hard to watch on 100 different levels.
What Banks has done with that defensive personnel is pretty amazing. Our secondary is just awful but when it comes to points per game, which is the stat that matters the most by far, we are serviceable. If I told you yesterday that we hold UGA to 27 I bet you would have thought we would win. I would have. I know you’ll say UGA let off the gas but they were still throwing deep with 4 minutes left.

I would've said we only give up 27 and we win for sure. Defense did enough, their defense is just nasty and our O had a an off day to say the least.

I thought we could’ve done more to get Hooker outside and we could’ve schemed more plays over the middle. UGA was using the sidelines against us as they knew we wanted to play out there. Also, I’m surprised we didn’t try to establish the run early. We were very pass heavy early on. But it’s hard to complain about the coaching this year. When we did adjust and had some open WRs Hooker overthrew them. He was very hesitant yesterday due to how UGA was playing and our line and backs couldn’t block UGA, especially the backs on corner blitzes. We played a little better against their D last year from my recollection and last year’s D had more talent.

My take on it is that CKS's game plan of playing our WRs in man to man and blitzing on every passing down was not adjusted for. I will admit I am not a football genius, but I thought UT could adjust the offense to take advantage of their aggression. I should probably watch it again, but I really don't want to. Did UT go to the screen/draw play game? I don't recall seeing much in that way.

IMO that was a coaching problem. That said, its possible that it wouldn't have mattered anyway. UGA's defense is that talented. I would say UT got outcoached while being out-talented. I don't think UT has no chance this year though. There is still time to get things going in the right direction, especially after a learning experience like yesterday.

Go Vols!

Also, Go Longhorns! (TCU needs to lose next week)

Okay and Bama has just as much talent as UGA has. And we put up 52. At a certain point, you just gotta tip your hat. Still takes coaching to get the potential out of those 5 stars you know. I can’t stand Kirby but how do you not give credit? He held us to 6 freaking points the majority of the game. SIX

We spotted Kirby a big lead and he scored 3 in the second half. He could have really made a statement and blew it. Really bad coaching in the facts are facts realm.

Georgias a team loaded with 5 stars. We lost to the better defensive team . Our defense played well. Remember everybody’s run comes to an end Georgias is around the corner. Alabama and Clemson are on the down turn. Saban will probably make one last run with Bryce Young next year then he will retire. Dabo and Clemson are falling fast their best years are behind them. CJH is right on schedule when it comes to success and title runs. I believe he’ll get us 2 Nattys when all said and done . With a handful of playoff appearances.

Heupel/Golesh have been winning a lot of chess matches. This one, they lost. Not even great coaches win them all. They’ll study and learn from it. Hooker and the o-line didn’t play well. We’ve gotten away with playing sloppy at times, but Georgia’s defense is fast and skilled enough that we need to play well to score on them. Crowd was a big factor. It’s no one thing.

This isn't a UGA thing. This is an all season thing. Go watch how LSU played Bama on 3rd downs and watch how we play everyone on 3rd downs. They man up and play cover 1/0 and blitz. We play 8 yds off in Cover 2/4 on a 3rd and 4. That's why UGA was having time to hit deep shots and hit them in the soft spots of the coverage. Yes the DBs aren't that great but I'd rather try make something happen instead of sitting back and letting it happen to me over and over again.

I thought the oline held up just our Qb needed to have deeper drops. He drops back deeper he would have given himself a couple extra seconds and that is what is going to be needed if we face Ga again. If not we will get same result. Hooker is athletic enough to escape getting sacked if he is back further and sees it earlier. Haven’t seen him throw on the run much . He better learn how enable to beat a good defense.
