Enough with this outcoached BS narrative

If it was all about talent, why’d we score 52 on Bama but just 13 on UGA? It’s common sense. We outcoached Bama. We did not outcoached UGA.

You still haven’t explained anything…you’re just posting conclusions.

Yes, we were able to make up for the talent deficiencies against Alabama. But you aren’t going to outscheme a more talented team when your O Line has nearly 10 false starts, the same O Line gets dominated physically, and your QB is rattled nearly all night as a result. Some nights the other team just plays better. That is what happened tonight.

This was the reigning national champs who blew out Oregon and is littered with 5* and a really good QB.
What Heupel has done getting this team to 8-0 was incredible. They've overachiever.
Hooker did not play well. Georgia sent the absolute house. The crowd, the rain. Kirby is a heck of a DC and guys werent running open anymore. The secondary is trash.
If Georgia lost, it was because THEY were outcoached. Georgia will beat, possibly whip Bama in Atlanta. They'll likely win the NC. This was a playoff game for Georgia. They didn't care about playing Kent State and Mizzu.
We were out man’d for sure. I don’t know if out coached is the right phrase but we got out schemed for sure.
Let me explain…

All year on our switches Bama and everyone else would play zone just to KISS the inside backer got beat quick and the safety was stuck in a bad spot all year.
GA didn’t zone… they man’d it (you could see the calls every time they went to a stack) … doesnt seem like a lot but usually a little is alot in scheme. It allowed man blitzes from the slot position.
Also, the deep throws were off a touch all game. Bad throw, maybe but when in man you don’t get free releases as easily which sometime is just enough to throw timing off.

Nothing mind blowing but that was just one thing they did that we didn’t have an answer for…

Some swing passes from our RB’s would of been nice.
Some hots for Hooker would of been nice. (Granted that he takes them)

It was just a bad game all the way around… the stage got big and they got tense.
If one thing Heupel has showed is that he usually learns from his mistakes and he will learn from this one.
I like our chances if we get them again. Heupel is a great coach and knows his stuff. That no one can argue with.

Yeah, the first two drives were stopped by penalties created from the crowd noise. The noise really affected the offensive snap rhythm and Kirby used it masterful to his advantage. UT had no answer to fix it all game.
I agree, the crowd noise absolutely had a negative impact for the Vols. It’s extremely difficult to run a hurry up offense in that environment. Certainly have us a bit of an edge.

Bama also had several PIs, played a completely different defensive gameplan. They matched up a lot better vs Bama.

LSU is the only top 12 team to have lost at home. No one was beating Georgia tonight. I think Georgia wins it all again.

I'm more disappointed by the fact that we didn't look good. Losing wasn't a shocker--but our weak offensive play in such a hyped game, after all the hype our offense had generated, was surprising. Depressing, actually.

Not sure anyone can say that Heupel was outcoached. Our OL certainly did Hooker no favors today. He was under duress for the entire game. Not much of a pocket to work with. The other thing that really stood out to me was how successful uga was in playing press/man to man against our WRs. We just couldn't beat their press coverage. I think Tillman being less than 100% certainly played a part in that. Hyatt just isn't physical enough to win a matchup against those UGA dbs and he was dinged up several times tonight, too. Bru had an okay game and seemed to hold his own, but he was relatively unspectacular. Fant...where was Fant? Where was he in short yardage? Where was his passing threat? Where was the speed option on some of those short yardage plays? Lots of things that we've done in the past, UGA seemed to have the ability to either take it away or make us uncomfortable going with it. UGA just has more and better pieces to play with than we do. They were more physical, far better tacklers in the secondary and just way more athletic. We played our worst game of the season and UGA had a big part in that.

I hope you are right sir, but things can change quickly. You guys aren’t out of the running yet, and yes your offense struggled today but I’ve seen what they can do when things go right.

Thanks for that. Yeah we dominated today, but I’m really glad this game was in Athens. You guys are really good, it certainly helped us that we were at home. I’ll be the first to admit that in Neyland things would possibly be much different
Neutral field I think it would be close. Our Oline struggled mightily. Hooker was off, had a few deep throws that would’ve altered the game. All of that said I think Georgia is the best team in the nation.

It’s pretty simple if you ask me… give Kirby the exact roster Heupel has and Heupel probably wins 8 of 10 games head-to-head.

As much as we liked Fulmer, he rarely out coached anyone- he just had the best talent. The same applies here. Give Kirby kudos for filling the void and taking advantage of Florida and TN hiring crappy coaches over the last several years and thus capitalizing on the recruiting trail.

Wasn't out coached. It was the difference in talent. Those years of recruiting more 4&5 stars and very few 3* pays off . Our future depends on recruiting at a high level.

Well saying our secondary is trash is insinuating coaching, yes?

The offensive game plan played right into Smart's defensive game plan. That's the very definition of being outcoached.
100 percent and we never ventured from it. Disclaimer is I’m not hating at all. We needed this and Josh needed to see this.

Depending on who you talk to. So some it’s UGA was better because of talent. (So was bama but we won). To some it’s the as you said. When your lacking talent, you have to our coach the other team.

Again scheme got wrs open a few times. The plays were there Hooker didn’t hit them. Oline dug is into holes as well with false starts. This team has things it does very well really don’t have the talent to deviate from that.

I think it would be a close game on a neutral field. At this point GA has more talent and depth, but that explosive offense TN has could potentially make things very even.

The bottom line is that we were physically dominated in every phase of the game. And Kirby watched a lot of film, and prepped his team accordingly. It felt much worse than the final score indicated.

But, the silver lining is, we aren’t done yet…..

We were outcoached homie. It’s okay. Hasn’t happened very often but it did today

It is an early sample sise, but Smart's defense has held Heupel's offense to 30 points in two games so far and his defense has the speed to keep up with the receivers.

Hooker had knowhere to throw half the damn time!!

Kirby read our offense like a book. It is what it is...

They need to own it in order TO IMPROVE.
You don't know what the hell you're talking about...

Neither do you. We all know that.
