ESPN Reporter Allegedly Tells Sen. Josh Hawley ‘F*** You’ Over NBA, China Criticism

Literally nothing. China will continue to be China if they shut out the NBA. He can be a cultural bridge from USA to China if he plays basketball and gets exposure in China. None of you guys have thought this thru.

So you're saying you would yap if it cost you and your employer billions? You're really gonna say that?
If I was in his position and I wouldn't miss a single dollar I think I would have to, if I were a man of principle.

So you are saying being a hypocrite, being a sellout, and compromising one's values is alright if given the right circumstances?

You can put whatever meaning and judgment on it you want, just admit that you would keep your mouth shut for $ billions when speaking your mind does nobody any good.

This isn't a hypothetical about "if you were a man of principle..." you're just you and this will cost you and your employer billions...do you ruin your business or stfu?

But I'm not LeBron, I don't have his money or his platform. What does anyone care what I would do?

But if you ask me what I would do I'll tell you I won't sell my soul for money. If you doubt me know that I left a very well paying job to move and live a quieter, more honest life for me and my family about a year ago. I took a large pay cut but we are happier now than ever.

And that's the thing it's all about money. Not about staying "woke" or for the good as long as money is being made. Bet the wouldn't say anything about police or being "oppressed" if police were giving billions to the NBA

They don't make money off the oppression.

What you're saying is "if you are willing to speak out on topic x, you should always speak out on topic X, no matter the circumstances, otherwise you are compromised." But that's not the way anybody should think. You speak when it makes sense to speak, and don't when it doesn't. Otherwise you're worse than a hypocrite, you're a fkn idiot

You're not answering the question. You're answering a different question. Also, there is nothing dishonorable about the money Lebron is making.

You can take all the selfish gain out of it and make it this "would you torpedo all your biz associates* and get nothing accomplished or would you keep your mouth shut?" I hope you'd do right by your people instead of taking a stand that does nothing for anybody.

*your owner, front office, coaches, teammates, opponents, agent, Nike, Warner Bros, etc.

Speaking out would not torpedo anyone's career but your own. And you keep moving the goalposts, you asked me and I said I would speak out. That is all the answer you need.

The nba sees a gold mine in china. No doubt the chicoms will roll out the red carpet. Why not support china, as long as theycmake money, who cares if a few Christians are imprisoned

What are you talking about? Your position makes more sense now that it's clear you don't understand how any of this works. If you get the NBA banned in China, revenue suffers greatly. Salaries will be diminished. If Space Jam gets canceled in China that's hundreds of $ millions lost by Warner Bros. Like you said, Lebron is going to be OK no matter what but why blow up all the people who got you here?

Good to know you side with the cotton plantation owners of the Civil War era who's riches would be threatened if they didn't employ slaves.

Nothing really it if the ordinary. My company decided at some point over the years to downsize our department which happens. What they didn't want to do was tell the employees until they had the particulars panned out which happens.

What wasn't right wass stringing people along for a year while making OT and weekends mandatory. All my really good employees left the company because we were being told nothing. I finally went to my director and told him we had to tell these employees something, that the company line they gave me to tell them no longer held water and that it had caused me to lose credibility within my department and with the company. He threatened to take my job, I requested to have a member of HR in the room before this discussion went any further.

Needless to say I made my mind up that day I was gone. Two weeks later I was called into my directors office office skiing with s member of HR. They offered me a promotion to head the department and another that was going to be absorbed. I let them know I would not accept the position and why. I have them 4 weeks notice, closed in my new home and left the company.

I left because of the way I was treated and more importantly, to me anyway, was the way they expected me to treat other people. I can fire people, I don't enjoy it but I did it 17 times during my 8 years in leadership in that company, but you don't use people up and stress them to the point they hate the job, the company. Things changed in the company culture about 6 years in and haven't gotten any better only worse since I've left according to friends still there.

Salaries may be diminished some but everyone will still be fine, so they don't get the automatic windows in that new Ferrari? Please, China isn't keeping the NBA above water. They'd be fine without them. They just want that little extra so who cares if China bashes a bunch of skulls in or disappears people. I mean it's not like they've chosen to make a stand against systemic oppression a point of emphasis for the upcoming season or anything......... Oh wait!

The privileged NBA players love being champions for social justice when it costs them nothing and is easy. Crickets when its hard and could cost some money though. Their true character shines through.

When Greg Pop got on SC and started talking about "speaking truth to power" in regards to supporting BLM I was just shaking my head.

If Amazon, Google, and Disney are saying the same thing as you, you aren't speaking truth to power you twat. Your organization has a chance to actually do what you are suggesting and instead you get in single file order to spit shine those CCP jack boots for a few dollars. Disgusting
