ESPN Reporter Allegedly Tells Sen. Josh Hawley ‘F*** You’ Over NBA, China Criticism

Wasn’t he in China when asked the question? I believe he was. If so are you going to talk crap about them while on their soil? Sounds like a fun way to end up in a work camp.

What are you talking about? Your position makes more sense now that it's clear you don't understand how any of this works. If you get the NBA banned in China, revenue suffers greatly. Salaries will be diminished. If Space Jam gets canceled in China that's hundreds of $ millions lost by Warner Bros. Like you said, Lebron is going to be OK no matter what but why blow up all the people who got you here?
Wait, aren't Republicans the ones supposedly out there rationalizing the greed and moral corruption of the filthy rich?

Some major role reversal going on in here in 2020.

Really? LeBron taken into custody in China and put in a work camp because of something he could have said while on a NBA tour?

Do you even believe the stuff you are spewing? Not to mention the obvious difference you are pointing out between China and the "oppressive, systematic racist" US society.

Salaries may be diminished some but everyone will still be fine, so they don't get the automatic windows in that new Ferrari? Please, China isn't keeping the NBA above water. They'd be fine without them. They just want that little extra so who cares if China bashes a bunch of skulls in or disappears people. I mean it's not like they've chosen to make a stand against systemic oppression a point of emphasis for the upcoming season or anything......... Oh wait!

Whether or not they will be fine is not the question. These are friends and associates of Lebron who have helped him and done right by him. Should he just **** them all over for no reason other than to make a point because they'll be fine? So stupid.

The NBA would survive, but how do you not understand what the extra $billions represent?

The reason is to speak out against systemic oppression and racism no? Isn't that what they plan on wearing on their backs this year?

And how exactly is that crapping all over the others? He loses a fraction, they lose a fraction and they take a real stand against the exact thing they claim to believe in.

I had no idea you felt that way about speaking out against injustice. Duly noted

Let's stick with the case at hand and not paint with an unnecessarily large brush...do you think Lebron bashing China is going to do more good than harm for the oppressed? I do not.

I don't think people understand how important it is for people in oppressed countries to get cultural exposure to the west:

Yeah, he would be making a point. That's all he would be doing. You would screw over everyone you knew professionally just to make a point?

They wouldn't be screwed, they would all be fine. And yes if it is something I believe in I would lose all credibility if I did anything else.

Money without integrity is hollow. Speaking out against them might cost LeBron some money but do you really think the NBA would kick him out? He is the face of the league. Players and coaches would fall in line with him in support. I think you underestimate his voice and platform.

Work camp? So slavery exists in China and Lebron is ok with that?

It's not even worth discussing anything with you.

It's not money without integrity. Every one of those dollars the NBA earns is well-earned. You have an incredibly myopic view of what happened, and it conveniently paints Lebron in the worst light. You can't even admit that you wouldn't sell out your people to make a political point.

What makes you think he's OK with any of it? Can you admit that you wouldn't speak out against China if it meant your employer and everybody you work with were going to lose $billions.

Let me just find one honest red hat, please.

Would you speak out against China on the human rights violations knowing your country could lose billions because they could impose a levy on your goods being sold to them ? How about Russia ? Saudi Arabia?

Daryl Morey didnt seem to have trouble with it.

He is ok with taking money from slave owners. Guess he needs to cramp all the SJW.

What do you mean? Daryl apparently didn't realize what kind of hornet's nest he was walking into and he backtracked everything. Morey is the reason Lebron and everybody else knew not to talk. Revenue suffered from Morey's comments. How can you look at him and think this is an example of why you should speak out?

Does doing business with China make us OK with slavery? Because you cannot be alive in America right now and not benefit from business with China. I guess we're all OK with slavery?

I'm not even sure what I'm arguing with Huff for. If you can't call hypocrisy what it is, by what amounts to a bunch of oppression pimps, then I'm not sure there's a point in discussion.
huff lives to argue with people who lean more right also he worships most professional athletes like they are his god, very odd.

So Lebron learned to say "yessa massa ", got it.

I dont have the power to influence that matter, he does.

At least you admit that money comes before human rights.

To fault Lebron for keeping his mouth shut, you have to believe:

- that it's OK to sell out all your business associates to make a political point.
- that you have the power to influence China to change.
- that you wouldn't want more money if you were in his position.
- that the NBA can't do more good as an open channel between east and west.

Who is willing to admit to this level of idiocy?

Well, silence is consent...or has the left changed that narrative now?

Amazing how you argue for slavery and concentration camps and human rights violations when it means profits will be affected.

The race baiting intro was your best post so far.

So you are good with standing fast for what you believe as long as the cost is minimal?

If the cost is substantial then it is ok to be a sellout?

During the American Revolution you would have been a Tory correct?
