Exactly. I was a long-standing Pearl fan, back to his UWM days, but this is too much. Keeping him sends the wrong, wrong message, and programs that try to defy those kind of odds, especially in such a high-profile case, get hammered harder.

I think it will be hard for him to stay on after the penalty's are handed down and the appeal is lost,, and most appeals are lost. If he is out for a year or more, the program has to move on. That may take over a year to get to that point.

yea pearl isnt like the coaches named cause wooden and rupp didnt lie but they paid more players than the knicks did during their coaching years

Pearl's 6 years at UT about 140-60. Coach K's first 6 years at Duke about 120-60. Not comparing the two completely, just saying....

Don't know if you caught the interview today with Pennington. Admittedly not the best source, but he talked about the fact that if this is as bad as it gets then Hamilton has probably done a really good job behind the scenes working with the 'AA. I find some validity to that point and I wouldn't call the Kiffin hire the Kiffin debacle. We doged a bullet by him leaving, but at the time of the hire it was a move many wanted.

Bruce has made UT basketball something we can be proud of. I remember the Buzz days where we were lucky to draw 10,000 (except the UK game where UK fans outnumbered us). If these sanctions were going on during Buzz's reign then no one would care and it wouldnt make the news.

Sure Bruce has made mistakes, but the man has a passion and love for this school and deserves to stay. He has taken this program further than ever before, and if we let him stay we will continue to make progress. Bruce IS Tennessee basketball. GBO
