ESPN thinks we go 4-8 next year

At 4-8, Butch better hope for a lot of legacy recruits next year if he plans to keep recruiting at a very high level. If UT were to somehow run off Butch though, we are the new KY for the next decade. Sorry but UT will not break out the piggy bank to compete with the likes of 'bama.

Butch needs to win, but barring wins he needs to at least show A LOT of fight and solid game planning this year. I love what he says, all the right things for UT no doubt, but I want to see some inspired coaching with what talent we do have this year.

Find a way to win so we can stop "hoping" for 6-6 seasons.

I'm for giving Jones the time he needs to fix this mess. We can't have another coaching change in three years

Jones is going to have to cut some bait if the O and D doesn't improve. He can't keep bad coordinators around and win. I'm suspect of Janceks ability. I'm willing to give Bajakian more rope, but Jancek failed already in the SEC with far better talent than we have on this roster

I'm thinking this (sadly):

08/31/14 vs. Utah State Knoxville, Tenn. WIN
09/06/14 vs. Arkansas State Knoxville, Tenn. WIN
09/13/14 at Oklahoma Norman, Okla. LOSS
09/27/14 at Georgia * Athens, Ga. LOSS
10/04/14 vs. Florida * Knoxville, Tenn. LOSS
10/11/14 vs. Chattanooga Knoxville, Tenn. WIN
10/18/14 at Ole Miss * Oxford, Miss. TOSS-UP
10/25/14 vs. Alabama * Knoxville, Tenn. LOSS
11/01/14 at South Carolina * Columbia, S.C. LOSS
11/15/14 vs. Kentucky * Knoxville, Tenn. WIN
11/22/14 vs. Missouri * Knoxville, Tenn. TOSS-UP
11/29/14 at Vanderbilt WIN

That would put us at 5-5 with the Ole Miss and Missouri games deciding how well our season turns out.

Pretty much how I see it as well, though I'd say USC is also a toss up.

You're missing the point entirely. It still took Spurrier several years to start winning double digit games consistently at USCjr. And that's about what I envision for CBJ. Steady improvement for the next few years and then consistently winning 10-11 games on a routine basis.

Comparing CBJ to Spurrier is one of the more insane things I have read on here. Spurrier won the ACC at Duke for crying out loud. Then he took over a UF program that was the Duke of the SEC and started winning IMMEDIATELY, and before it was all over, he had UF dominating the SEC and national scene with 7 SEC titles. After flirting with the NFL, he has taken a pathetic SC program and made them perinneal 11-game winners.

Butch Jones is closer to Lane Kiffin than Steve Spurrier at this point in his career, and it aint even close.

Barring serious injuries 6-6 should be easily attainable. 7-5 is a possibility, especially if our QB situation is where it should be.

spurrier did not start winning immediately.. while I do think he is a great coach.. and has done amazing work over his lifetime.. there is no need to exaggerate.. just sayin

He didn't? He was 19-4 in his first two seasons after inheriting a team on probabtion. Won the SEC in year two if not for their probation. His worst season at UF was 9-4. What do you call winning rifght away?

And the butthurt continues unabated.

classic troll comment.. keep it coming, the only thing you and your fellow non-vol trolls do by being here every minute of every day is show us how scared you really are of UT rising back to the top.

If only I cared enough to troll you back on your own boards.

It's all good, it will just be that much sweeter to rub it in your face once we are dominating you again.. very very soon. :)

Or will you still have the guts to stick around and take your medicine? for some reason I think you, your fellow bammers, and the Jort lovers do not have the intestinal fortitude for that. You will be long gone, licking your wounds and finding someone to blame.

Auburn already has Bama's number, only a matter of time before the rest of the conference falls in line right behind them, to kick the krap out of you while your down.

Go ahead and tell me how much my butt hurts now, it is amusing how that is all you can come up with. And for some reason you think it bothers anyone :eek:lol: :eek:lol: :eek:lol:

you were referencing USCjr.. in which it took him 6 years to get that program where it is now.. not that it isn't amazing that he was able to do it.

And at UF.. he did that with a roster that zook had already pulled from the gutter..

I think it bothers you because you continue to write the Butthurt Manifesto.

We've never EVER lost 8 games in 1 season, what makes them think we will this year? (I bet ESPN doesn't know that Vol stat!)

I can almost promise you ESPN doesn't know that stat. You know why? No one cares about "losing" stats. It's not important! Who cares if UT is 1 of 2 teams to have never lost 8 games in a season? No one outside of UT fans the past couple of years.

I've been a UT fan since I can remember (late 70's) and this stat was never mentioned until the Dooley era. Why? Because UT started losing 7 games consistently.

Newsflash....losing 7 games STILL SUCKS! It's not an accomplishment to ONLY lose 7 games.

Think you might start the Curry vs Saban Iron Bowl loss streak Manifesto? or will it be a Saban retires before 3 in a row loss Manifesto?

UT has so many losing streaks going, so you're really going to go there?

Saban has only lost to the same team twice in a row once since he's been at Bama. I'm not worried.
