Etsu fulmer presser fri 1st

My point was that the players at those high schools who are capable of playing at the next level will most likely go to UT. See Foreman and Swafford. The rest of them aren't good enough to make etsu competitive. Jmo.

And you point is wrong. ETSU is going to be playing in the FCS or in old terms Div IAA. There are plenty of kids
not good enough to play BCS football that would excel at
at a lower level.

Combine the soccer an football field. Make it larger.make homecoming fun again. All around good thing for the tri cities. Not everyone can afford 50$a ticket for a family of four every weekend.so it would be nice having something closer to enjoy. And all said go vols !

They are not going to touch the soccer field, the booster who supplied the money for it would raise bloody hell. Not going to happen, he is soccer guy, not a football guy.

I must STRONGLY disagree. There are a lot of kids in East Tenn that would be good (ETSU) caliber but not UT caliber players. Tri-cities, Morristown, Greenville, Metro Knoxville, Chattanooga...there's a ton of really good football players around here that they wouldn't even have to worry about competing with UT for. JMO

Bingo, someone who gets it.

Expanding the seating at that stadium would only generate more buzz about that soccer program (which is good, yet under appreciated).

It seems odd to me that he would have a problem with that.

Fulmer not leaving his CBS cushy job.

I wouldn't be sure of that.

There has been talk of Fulmer to ETSU for sometime now. The latest I heard was Fulmer would not be coaching but working in the administration helping the program together, be involved in hiring staff and FUND RAISE. They do plan to build a new stadium. Phil could raise a pile of money to get this program rolling.

There was early talk that he would be coaching. I have heard that has changed. Phil could have had a change of heart and decide to coach. I do believe he will be involved in the program.

I hope he does do that. I was just being sarcastic, i.e. Gruden not leaving his cushy ESPN gig...

I have heard this is a possibility. I was told that the field was built with that in mind, as far as inside dimensions. I was also told that it wouldnt take much to turn it into a football venue.

Someone needs to or the board will become a chorus of "you-ins", runonsentenceswithnopunctuation and/or other means of supporting negative Appalachian stereotypes (or is that type with a long-I sound?)

This is along the line of what I've heard. Atleast the most realistic thing I've heard. I'm pretty sure/convinced Phil is gonna have a hand in helping get the program off the ground...just not sure it will be coaching. Phil is a good man, great coach, and has been a great ambassador for UT. Too bad people can't see it.

No it was not built with football in mind. That stadium was built by the former president and his lackey AD, the ones who killed football. It was that president, Stanton who said at the time ETSU was on the leading edge of a wave of schools who would be dropping football in the near future. I think about 2 dozen or more schools have ADDED football since he said that, including Austin Peay a fellow TBR school. Stanton would never have allowed that to happen. This is the same president who when they built a new Student activity center had the pool made few inches to short so that it could never be used in an offical competition, he did the same thing with the basketball courts in that center. If he did anything he had the soccer field built in a way it could never be converted to football.

You all just think Hart and Cheek is a bad combonation for your athletic department. They are rank amauters when it comes to trying to destroy an athletic department compared to Stanton/Mullins. ETSU basketball has been playing in the Dome since
1977. roof leaks, seats are small and uncomfortable and it generally sucks for baksetball.
We can't use half the seats because of fire marshall regs (lost our grandfather clause when we dropped football).

So instead of building a new basketball arena they built, new tennis courts, a golf center
probably nicer that what UT has, a softball field, a baseball field the above mentioned soccer field and a project that hasn't finished yet building yet another tennis center.
Got us kicked out our old conference when the dropped football and it leaked to the press before they had mentioned it to the Socon, (the commish found out ETSU was dropping football by reading it in the paper).

Those two guys have done all they kind to destroy the primary sports at ETSU.

The reason given for dropping football was it was losing a million dollars a year. So the year after football was dropped do you the the athletic budget went down? Nope it went up 250,000.

LOL!!! Look man, it makes no sense to go full retard all the time! Obviously I struck a nerve. Sorry if PF did what I said he did. Gotta be painful bro, hang in there!

You're the one that's on full retard because you apparently can't read & comprehend a sentence & respond in a civilized manner. Come back to the board when your "mommy" will let you be with the adults. :)
