Big game for England tomorrow. With Holland all but eliminated in the Group of Death and the upstart Irish taking a beating today, the English are now pretty much my only hope for seeing one of the teams I like move into the knockout stage. If they can get some sort of result against France, even a draw, they should be in good position to reach the quarterfinals.

I would. You can lose the opening game in some groups and advance, but you can't really lose to the worst team in the Group of Death and then expect you'll be moving on. If they couldn't even beat a lousy Denmark team, Germany and Portugal will probably blow their doors off.

Don't get me wrong, they aren't in a great position, but I'd say they still have a decent shot to advance if they can get a result against Germany.

They might hope for a draw at best, but I think portugal will do a better job of getting touches for ronaldo and nani and shred them.

Holland isn't dead but they are on life support

Portugal is twice the team that Denmark is, and Holland couldn't even put one in on them. Maybe if the park Robben and his stupid 30 yard shots on the bench and let Huntelaar start along with Van Persie things will go better, but yesterday was just a flat out disaster.

That's what I'm afraid of. Germany did a good job of basically taking him out of the game yesterday, but I'm fairly certain the Dutch don't have the personnel to make that happen. They better show up with the plan of scoring 3 or 4 goals if they want to win.

Van der Wiel is not a bad player. And Nani blows and Ronaldo absolutely disappears in big tournaments. I'm not exactly expecting that to change anytime soon. Ronaldo didn't do anything against a midlevel CB playing completely out of position at RB. Holland will beat Portugal, if they have anything to play for that at that point.

I think Holland can score on Portugal, their back line isn't as good as the Danish. I'm never going to feel comfortable trying to contain those two wingers though, Oranje could be up 3 with a minute to go and they still make me nervous.
