fans/students throwing bottles at vandy players at end

I was so pissed at the end of the game I was throwing everything I could find at the tv!
I understand the motivation, but we can't go there.
Even as fans we represent the university, and this is not the image we want to present.

I new that it was going to be bad when I heard on TV, the F-you Franklin. I couldn't believe it. Just classless. I don't care if they were drunk or not. One of the coaches or someone should have said something to them. It was embarrassing as well as the loss. I understand the loss hurt, but come on. Really???

I'm glad we did. James Franklin is an arrogant prick and their players and fans now think they own our state because they've beat us two years in a row. Go read Vandymania, it's even more pathetic than some of the threads on here. I don't think there's anything wrong with doing that, it's a risk you take going to an opposing stadium...

are you ****ting me?

at no time should the athletes by in any danger from the fans.

how much dumber can this place get

The Vandy players were taunting the students and fans as they we're walking off. Franklin had to yell at his players to stop. IMO if you taunt, expect a response...especially if you are in our house!

oh please. players are taunted all game from fans.

why dont you take your own advice. if you cant take taunting from Vandy players, dont taunt them.

it was disrespectful. we crossed the line and need to man up. even tho candy players were showing up us students at the end by bragging we r better than that.
I think we are better. At least our football players aren't raping our students like franklins candyazz players did/do.

Explain to all of us how they're NOT the best team in Tennessee right now. This is not your daddy's vandy. They beat FL, GA, and UT all on the road this year.
Vandy football players are the best at raping their students this year. What a sick asz coach who lets his players do that and not even have any remorse.

People keep saying we were throwing glass containers. I was in Section E Row 3 Seat 22, and only saw plastic cups. There's a big difference between throwing a 'big gulp' type cup and a glass bottle. Many students were classless, and I'm not saying it was okay that people were throwing stuff at players, but yeah, I feel like people are exaggerating.

Also, the one injured guy that was on crutches on the bench the whole game... he was pretty funny. I was getting really mad at him turning and laughing at us the whole game, but he stood there and let people throw stuff at him and made a game out of dodging cups. I thought it was pretty funny to watch. He was enjoying it.

Much. It can get much dumber, and has at times. There is a reason why we end up on "Worst Fans" lists. Advocating throwing bottles at colleges kids is just a small sample of the ignorance.

Kinda don't blame them in a way.

I'd be pissed if a team you beat consistently for decades acts like how Vandy has acted since the end of the game.

But seriously, it is a very un-classy gesture.

vandy is far from a classy program now.look at their coach and most of their players.you would think they would act like stanford and david shaw.a classy coach and program.franklin is a douche bag and a thug.and he teaches his players how to disrespect other teams.you win with class and lose with class.and there is nothing classy about vandy.just look at their coach.

Are there any reports of anyone actually getting hurt? Maybe that would explain what was actually thrown. If it were bottles or something that could cause injury then we would know more. I haven't heard anything of the like. Hell, the students used to rain cups down on the lower deck in a big game after a score that would cause more injury than what was thrown Sat night.

Fans shouldn't throw stuff, but players and coaches shouldn't act like dumbasses and ask for it either. The old saying is act like you've been there before but Candy beating UT in football is new to them so they don't know how to act. You would've thought they had won the national title the way they were celebrating. I guess sucking for the better part of 100 years does that to you.

Uh, apparently they DO own the state.

Alabama - Kentucky circa 1980, could have been 1982. A Tennessee fan threw an empty Jack Daniel bottle on the field, striking a cheerleader above the eye. She bled profusely as she was escorted out of the stadium to get help.

Many fights in the stands that day also. Real classy group you've got.

I thought Vol fans were a cut above.
Guess not.
Proves that most colleges have a fair amount of SCUM!.

We need some regulations for fans.
If a person gets caught throwing objects, ban them for life!.
