Fear the Walking Dead

We discussed this at length in the TWD forum and I think even Chris Hardwick discussed it on The Talking Dead. In an unsupervised coma 2 weeks would be pushing it in terms of survival without fluids. So max, 2 weeks after the last IV bag runs dry.

On AMC.com, there is a webisode that explains where the painted warning on the cafeteria doors in the hospital came from...the Dr that gets killed in the webisode was probably keeping Rick alive and even in a chemical induced coma. When she gets shot, he wakes up not long afterward.

fwiw, I've already seen tons of people on the imdb boards complaining about not enough action or zombies. I'm not sure what they want out of a show. Lol. Here you go 60 minutes of gore. I'd be bored out of my mind. I like gore too but come on. The imdb boards were pathetic last night. It was a pilot what did they expect?

Well those people are as crazy as the people that flip if you say a negative thing about it. Lol

Id rather be in the south during a zombie Breakout. There's enough rednecks and gun owners that would make survival easier than in the west. What're they going to do? Throw 20$ tofu at them? Give me southerners. Lol

You could always take up with the bloods or cryps.

I hope the fat kid, Chuck(?), makes it.

yeah, I kinda wish they would have played with that a little more with the things he was saying and trying to tell her. The stuff about it spreading across the country and things like that. He apparently was keeping up with it more than the adults, I wished they would have made it a little more apparent that something was going on elsewhere (Atlanta etc..) with a news report or something and the teacher lady not paying attention etc.. was to enamored with there own little world and oblivious to the stuff going on around them.

Interesting, I never saw that.

That'd end well I'm sure. :)

There are 3 different webisodes for TWD that tie into the first season. Definitely worth a look. They are short stories that all have a tie in to the first season. They each give a little back story.

It's a shame that they didn't do more of the webisodes...

I didn't DvR it so I'm just going to wait until they both air on Sunday and get two in a row. But, I can't say I'm real excited about it. Thanks to Jerry, nothing tops Banshee now. Damn you for telling me about that show

The webisodes are ok but most of them have some pretty bad acting. The first and third webisode series tied into the first season but the second one didn't really add anything.

You are welcome good sir. :)

Pretty sure they alluded to the fact that so far it wasn't really being talked about more than as almost a conspiracy theory online, which sounds like it wouldn't be on anything like a major new report just yet. They made a point to show the kid again at the end so I seriously doubt we aren't going to get more from him about this in episodes to come. The show is about the initial outbreak, and the fallout that comes with it, and we are only one episode in, really don't think they are going to get to how it was spreading across the country just yet.

I think the doctors in the hospital knew that something strange was going on. When the man in the same room as the drug kid died, he was rushed out of the room and the dialog was something to the effect "we don't know what's going on yet". Also, his breathing before he died sounded like he may have been infected somehow.

I thought he flatlined and as they were wheeling him out he was turning but they didn't realize it.

He did flatline, and they tried to save him, but as they were wheeling him out, I thought the conversation revolved around something they didn't understand but needed to study it more.

Very compelling pilot. I like that the producers are emphasizing that this show moves slowly. I can understand why some think it to be too slow, but this isn't TWD.

First impression:

The characters aren't very compelling right off the bat. It's trying too hard to set up the ultra dysfunctional family. Despite that the over all story was decent enough to bring me back for another episode. I didn't mind the slow pace (looks it will seed up a lot next week) and felt the acting was pretty solid.

Side note, the kid playing Nick reminds me of James Franco for some reason.

That was my biggest problem with it. News travels too fast for the kids to be the ones telling disbelieving adults like they are damn Goonies or something. Other than that i thought the pilot was good.
