Federal Death Penalty brought back to life

I see, I must have misread the carve outs for the Commandments. So, just to be clear if the killing is "lawful", it's OK in the eye's of god?
It's actually though shall not murder.

Difference between killing and murder. Murder is what liberals do to unborn, and now just born babies, for example. Carrying out a punishment by death is not murder.

I'm assuming since you are ok with partial birth and live abortion, of innocent children then you are ok with guilty criminals getting it?

Dude, you said he's "throwing shade at Christianity". You have a fundamental misunderstanding of his position. He's not dogging Christianity, he's appealing to it. If anybody is shading it, it's you for implying state killings are OK. Your evidence was that Pharisees were cool with crucifixion...

I'll accept just one teaching by Christ that implies killing is acceptable punishment
When the thief on the cross told Jesus they (the theives) were getting what they deserved, why didnt Jesus speak out then?

Jesus didnt say anything about gay marriage - its ok!

Jesus didnt say anything about the death penalty - it's not ok.

Which is it?

He was probably in and out of consciousness from the dehydration and pain.

L.o.l.

Out of curiosity, will you please quote the thief?

Who said Jesus thinks gay marriage is OK? I personally believe Jesus would say "render unto Caesar..." and leave people alone, but I don't have any reason to believe he condones gay marriage.

Had plenty of opportunity to speak out on it during his ministry and time since the Roman's used used the death by crucifixion in an open manner so people could see the punishment.

Romans 13, first few verses talks about God setting up governments and laws to protect the innocent and execute judgement and punishment on wrong doers.

Amazing that Trump now has his opponents defending child murderers.

From my own quick research...the statements from that governor has been controversial amongst even the liberal media like CNN and Vox. The second link hardly has anything to do with post-birth abortion, and even then so dramatically paints the opposite narrative in a ridiculously subjective picture, far from an objective source.

And I’ll spare you all what Torah says about pulling the unborn from the mother to offer as a sacrifice to false gods.
I’m sure you can guess.
Hint: sometimes people’s love of themselves is worship of self as a false god

I tend to favor the OT's handling of it...

The law of retribution, also called the law of retaliation or lex talionis, was part of the Old Testament Law given to Israel through Moses. Retribution was one of the cornerstones of Israel’s penal code. The punishment was supposed to mirror the crime. The principle of lex talionis is clearly stated in Leviticus 24:19–21: “Anyone who injures their neighbor is to be injured in the same manner: fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. The one who has inflicted the injury must suffer the same injury. Whoever kills an animal must make restitution, but whoever kills a human being is to be put to death.

Monetary damages are to be paid for killing an animal belonging to someone else, but, if a person is murdered, then the murderer must forfeit his life in return.

It’s poor debate to use the term “well” in this manner, insinuating that your straw man diversion of my pro life/pro choice beliefs has anything to do with what I stated.

Please stop pretending like you are some kind of debate master or that you even know what a strawman is. You arent and you dont. But please continue with your oh its the alt right blah, blah, blah.

You attempted to bait me from a statement about post birth abortions to my opinion on abortion as a whole. Hence, I called you out. I’m sorry that you felt the need to lash out and call me a self proclaimed debate master. Maybe if you had anything of substance you would of thought of something better to say. Also I’m not sure where I have mentioned anything about the alt right, so it seems that using straw man is very important to you.

Hardly anyone from the full political spectrum is for the active death of newborn infants. This is complete nonsense, yet such common right wing rhetoric.

I guess you conveniently forgot. Yet again, you really dont understand what logical fallacies are. Continue on.

Oh, my apologies. I did say right wing rhetoric. I still stand by my original statement. You telling me I don’t understand logical fallacies is a poor defense on your usage of them. Why won’t you admit that bringing up the topic of pro choice vs pro life is unrelated to my original statement? How stubborn must you be to not own up to making a mistake.

I hate when religion gets pulled into death penalty arguments. It has no place in what should be a government decision. Personally, I support the death penalty in certain horrendous crimes where guilt is evident. Truthfully, I don't think it gets applied enough. I'm of the opinion that child rapists should be included in the death penalty. Some crimes merit the forfeiture of life IMO, but I think whether or not it is applied should be weighed heavily against proof of the crime.

I agree that the severity and even the frequency of the crime should dictate the responses, and obviously all responses should not be equal.

Horrible old Trimp and his lackey Barr trying to kill as many black people as they can while they still can.

I have posted about man worshipping the "man in the mirror " several times. I believe it is the most popular idol...followed by money/material things and addiction ...which are both really just more focused or nuanced worship of self and personal lusts. It all goes back to pride and self, the reason for the fall.

Septic is a troll so it doesnt surprise me to see him attampt to spike the ball and pretend he just scored a 60yd bomb when he knows different. Just looking for a rise.

A baby has committed no crime. They have broken no law. Murderers obviously have. The old "an eye for an eye" helps to clear up the distinction. God said basically "let the punishment fit the crime." A baby having committed no crime isnt included with the murderer. To pretend God sees them the same is to intentionally deceive, or be ignorant . Dumb or dishonest, take your pick.

Nice try bridge troll however that commandment refers to unlawful killing. Even within biblical times there were lawful execution methods. Crucifixion anybody?

I cannot wait for you to try to explain that remark in front of God. The Crucifixion is an example of an innocent man being cruelly tortured and executed. Jesus said to forgive and have mercy.

As a Christian, I do not want the government killing in my name, which is what happens when the Feds or TN execute a prisoner. I believe I will be held accountable for it by God.
