I hate polls. They are based on personal biases as evidenced by Alabama being ahead of Tennessee. Tennessee beats LSU, who beat Alabama, who lost to Tennessee. Make that make sense for me. Tennessee loses to Georgia, in Athens, and imposters went to South Carolina and got beat like a rabid animal. One bad game and the so called experts raise Alabama up over Tennessee.

They'll likely work the seeding to prevent it. Hard to stop 2. But they can pit SEC teams against each other in the fisrt 2 rounds to keep it away from 3 or 4.

Again, WTH is Bama ranked higher than us? We beat that ass for them at Neyland and beat a much better team in our Bowl game.

I would hope the seeding is predetermined and not open to any person's (or group) agenda.

Mike the guy who voted UT 7th has LSU 8th. That alone should have his vote revoked. Not to mention Texas 15th with 5 losses.

Wouldn't that be nice? But, the byes will have to be determined by ranking to some degree, no conference will get more than one, and 7-12 is nothing but ranking. So we'll get political nonsense, just like before.

This is a joke. Partiality written all over it. Tennessee should be higher than Alabama and TCU.

I can't believe they have TCU at 2, the disparity between how they played UGA and how OSU did is just ridiculous.

Beat Alabama and blow out LSU the other team that beat Alabama. Both recent National Champs. Cream Clemson the ACC champ and another recent National Champ. Doesn't matter, Alabama still ranked higher.

They could do what Georgia has done. Simply recruit the best players from the State of Georgia and a top 2 or player from the other States in the South,Texas, and California for 3 straight years.

TCU being 2 is almost certainly because these voters already filled out their ballots with last night’s winner being 1 and the loser being 2. Then most didn’t feel like reevaluating things after a blow out.

1. Uga
2. Ohio state
3. Michigan
4. Alabama
5. Tennessee and Tcu
I know we should be above alabama but the voters didn’t see that so I figured it would look like that.

Has any team that lost the championship game not finished second in the final AP poll?
We'd certainly have finished higher had our defense not taken a day off in Columbia. But all in all we had a fantastic year and it's great to be a Tennessee Volunteer.

Since the playoffs started? No.

Oregon finished #2 after the 2014-2015 season.
Clemson finished #2 after the 2015-2016 season.
Alabama finished #2 after the 2016-2017 season.
Georgia finished #2 after the 2017-2018 season.
Alabama finished #2 after the 2018-2019 season.
Clemson finished #2 after the 2019-2020 season.
Ohio State finished #2 after the 2020-2021 season.
Alabama finished #2 after the 2021-2022 season.
TCU finished #2 after the 2022-2023 season.

Tennessee can't control what uga does. Uga had a top class before last night. Sadly, uga has become a monster, and isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Vols just have to keep working and winning a few more recruiting battles. (ante up the NIL) As we saw last night it IS about the jimmys & joes. Assuming Tenn has the best Staff available (open for debate) the Mountain can be climbed and the Dragon slain.
