Final AP Poll Rankings (1/10/2023)

Top 5 should be...

Georgia
Ohio State
Michigan
Tennessee
Alabama

TCU should be 6th. No damn way should they be top 5 after that.

Getting blown out by 58 or losing to a team that just got blown out by 58 shouldn't keep you in the top 4 . Don't care if it's playoffs or not.
Not that the final ranking means much, but TCU has lost 2 of the last 3 and climbed from 4 to 2…

Why Michigan behind Ohio State when Michigan has 1 less loss and took Ohio State to the woodshed at Ohio State? I know Ohio State played UGA better than anyone but still.

Michigan got beat by the team that just got obliterated in the biggest game of the year. It’s pretty much a wash.

They lost their last 2 games. No team who loses last 2 games of season should finish in the runner up spot!
Yeah, but they took UGA to the wire which is more than can be said for other contenders. UGA also beat both teams that beat Bama pretty handily.

Just shows how ridiculous this all is. I mean that is a totally unjustifiable top 6.

A team gets rolled 65-7 and blow their conference championship against a team outside the top 10 and they still think they are #2 in the country?

Alrighty then.

Since the playoffs started? No.

Oregon finished #2 after the 2014-2015 season.
Clemson finished #2 after the 2015-2016 season.
Alabama finished #2 after the 2016-2017 season.
Georgia finished #2 after the 2017-2018 season.
Alabama finished #2 after the 2018-2019 season.
Clemson finished #2 after the 2019-2020 season.
Ohio State finished #2 after the 2020-2021 season.
Alabama finished #2 after the 2021-2022 season.
TCU finished #2 after the 2022-2023 season.
None got the crap kicked out of them like tcu.

If TCU is the number 2 team I am a rocket scientist! The AP poll deserves to be laughed at and mocked. It’s a bad joke and a reflection of its voters. I would ashamed if I voted for that final 5. GBO

What a joke. How can a team lose two of their last three including losing their championship game and absolutely get destroyed in the national title game and not only do they not drop a spot on either loss, but move up one spot. That's really absurd and obviously biased.

How can UT get no respect at all?
Have the best QB season minus one game, not get invite to Heisman.
Beat Alabama and blow out LSU the other team that beat Alabama. Both recent National Champs. Cream Clemson the ACC champ and another recent National Champ. Doesn't matter, Alabama still ranked higher.

Hilariously dumb.

This is why polls matter very little. I’d take the win over Bama and be ranked 1 spot under them than lose that game and be ranked higher. Bama fans can brag about winning an arbitrary popularity contest all they want. I’ll take the win.

Bama didnt lay a turd against a divisional opponent. We did.

Also, we didn't "beat that ass" as much as we won on a last second field goal.
We beat them and also beat the team (LSU) handily that beat them as well. So how do we rectify that with losing to SC, who is ranked 23rd in the end of year poll?

And we have Tennessee fans who wanted Georgia to win because they thought we'd finish higher 🤣. Georgia winning did absolutely nothing for us, except give them a bigger edge in recruiting. Hopefully some people see this now.
At least the VolDawgs got a nice win in during that scrimmage last night

This is stupidity across seven continents. Keep driving fans to other sports with this garbage.

Not sure the reasoning for that. If I were to venture a guess, I would presume a typo on AP.com’s part with regard to the first 2 teams, having overlooked that they didn’t update the records. The top right part of the section in the screenshot you posted does note a date of January 10, however.

I had to copy the rankings from the ESPN App’s rankings section to actually be able to align and arrange the information cleanly using my phone (there’s a lot of extra mess and formatting to sift through that copying and pasting straight from AP.com brought ).

If preferable, I can provide a link for ESPN if desired. Meanwhile, here’s an image of the rankings from ESPN’s mobile app:

I can't believe there's a 4 loss team in the top 10.

Why don't they just go ahead and issue the final polls results for the 2023 season too since the results of games obviously don't mean anything?
