Funny, we have someone in our office that works just as hard as I do, getting his college degree (yes, he's black and a Millenial) and he's setting himself up for a full time salaried position with our company.

Sometimes just working as hard as the next guy seems to be helpful.

How does it make to sense to say the answer to stop racism is to "get over it" or "stop talking about it?"

Wouldn't the answer be to stop the racist people from doing and saying racist things? Then there would be nothing to get over or stop talking about.

But getting people to not be racist doesn't fit the right wing, white nationalist, fascist agenda.

what is a racist? at heart they are a bully.

how do you get rid of a bully. 1. beat them up. not really an option here, and hopefully we are past the times where the racism manifests itself in physical violence. 2. if its verbal bullying, ignore them and don't react. prove that you are bigger than them and their taunts don't work. every time you respond to them, they win. crying to mom every time they call you a loser doesn't fix anything.

yeah it happens. but the only reason it ruins ones life is because you let it. plenty over come. no reason everyone can't overcome, unless you want to imply a race isn't strong enough as a collective to face their problems.

I didn't say calling out someone for being racist is the definition of racism. I said you, in particular, are a racist pig. You feel as though you are owed more because of your skin color and you disparage anyone of an opposite skin color as automatically being a racist.

Dude chill out on the name calling. I see you can't have a civilized discussion when presented with facts.

The fact is drugs are used and sold at the same rate by whites and blacks. Blacks are 80% of the drug prisoners though despite being about 14% of the population. Same offenses and past records whites get lighter sentences. Facts about the racist judicial system.

Black men with the same education and experience get paid about 70cent for every dollar the white man is paid. White men with felonies get more interviews and get hired more than more educated black men with clean records.

I have facts.

All proven by multiple studies and data. I have posted links on it all before.

I have never said every white person or even Republican is anything. I discuss specific people and instances of racism. Yall don't like me shining a light on racist dirtbag behavior. Maybe it hits too close to home or maybe you just feel the same way they do. Either way I'm not the one with the problem.

white people are so racist. white people can't understand how racist white people are because they are white. white people are racist for offering their views on race relations. the problem with the world is white people. We would be so much better off without white people. white people just need to wake up. white people can't understand the world around them. white people never face any problems due to race. white people can't be allowed to try and help. white people can't have an opinion on the matter. white people just have to accept our version of things. white people are all the same. etc etc etc.

This **** is so tired. If an employer could hire an equally qualified candidate for 30% less than another person they would hire the cheap guy all day. I have never heard of such an opportunity.

Good things are happening already. People are being exposed, they are losing jobs and being shamed. That is a start. Showing it is no longer socially acceptable. So speaking out against it is one of the main things.

Several racist laws have been changed or are being challenged. Another big step.

Better oversight into all forms of discrimination and penalties for employers, schools, lenders, or housing that discriminate.

Also educating children so the next generation doesn't pickup on the ignorance of older people.

Exposing different communities to each other and learning about each other is one of the main things that stops racism. Some people are too insulated and are never exposed to certain groups except through media.

It will take many things.
