Five-star SG Anfernee Simons visiting this weekend

Just to be clear, Simons is not a PG. If we found room for another player in the 18 class, Tyler Harris, a PG from Memphis, is an option.

Harris is someone I really want on this team next year. If you can somehow make room for both definitely do it. As long as you don’t run off a talented player, that is.

This is going to be a polarizing opinion, but with our emphasis in 2019 seeming to be on recruiting big men, it wouldn't hurt my feelings if we parted ways with Fulkerson. Harris for Fulk would be an even trade or better for us IMO.

Finding a way to take Harris would be great. If Simons commits, you probably get that scholarship back for 2019 anyway, assuming he goes pro. Alexander, Schofield, and Darrington all graduate, and you can take a SG, 2 PF/C types, and Gaines. Or use that 4th spot for best player available.

Yes! I wasn’t going to say it,but that’s who I thought of.

I disagree, I think Fulk can help us.

Like I said, it's a polarizing opinion. I think Fulk has become somewhat of a cult legend based on a handful of games last season. He's done little to make me (just speaking personally) believe he'll ever develop the coordination, offensive skill, and defensive discipline to contribute in a big way. I get the injury issues, and I'm open to being wrong. I just am starting to have my doubts about him. Reminds me of Charles Hathaway a bit. Showed quite a bit of promise his freshman year, had the blood clot issue, and then never recovered to become the player we all hoped he'd be.

So, you get rid of a 6'9" guy who as already demonstrated great potential, for a 5'9" guy whose talent might not translate to college?

I know it is not a totally ridiculous notion in this case, but I will put my vote in for Fulk.

I think we will remember Fulkerson for a long time, if he adds a few pounds, and gets back into the flow of things.

On the surface it looks like a one to one trade, but I think Fulk is going to end up recruited over, and IMO, the guard position is more lacking that frontcourt for the immediate future. We are in on some really good forwards for the 19 class, and one less experienced body to compete with only has to make Tennessee more attractive to those recruits.

And I'd debate the idea that Fulk has shown "great potential". That may be overstating his impact thus far quite a bit. He's shown glimpses, but IMO, most came before the injury. If he never fully recovers, or is just set too far behind from a development and strength standpoint, he may never replicate those glimpses with regularity. To me, hoping he ever reaches that potential post-injury is no more risky than bringing in an undersized PG.

It's definitely not a slam dunk case in either player's favor. Just an interesting debate.
