Five-star SG Anfernee Simons visiting this weekend

Ok genius, please inform me on how many 5*s are lining up to play for UT?

No they'd rather play for a coach that puts them in a 2-3 zone, instead of keeping them in man-to-man which was actually stopping us.

5 stars line up to these farm team blue bloods that just throw the ball out on the court and let them play with no team chemistry, coaching, development, etc.. but it's the easiest path to get drafted so that's where they go.

Exactly.

Don't get me wrong I want to get Simons really bad. But I also wonder how if we got him if he'd mess with the team chemistry? I don't think so, but you never know.

Either way if we get him or not, we're going to have a nice team. We get pretty much everyone back and you know they'll be even better because CRB actually develops his players.

Maybe I misunderstood your post...I’m all for bringing in Simons and I think he is likely to play college ball.

I might be wrong, but I'd assume it's somewhat like baseball. Kids are always using the college route to enhance leverage with the mlb team that drafts them. Maybe things are different? Maybe I'm clueless on how this works in hoops? Regardless, I agree. Hope he's wearing orange for at least one year.

He would have to declare for the draft unlike baseball.

Possibly the funniest thing you've ever posted

If it was a legitimate discussion I would discuss it.

The OP doesn’t have a clue. He’s just rambling. Making claims that aren’t based on anything but his butt hurt exaggerations of me saying Barnes needs to do better.

This “Tennessee isn’t an easy place to recruit” is bull crap. The people on this forum with some sense should rip him for that excuse making defeatist crap.

It's not easy. But that doesn't mean it's impossible, either. But it's far from easy to recruit here.

I previously asked you a simple question on how many 5*s are lining up to play for UT?

You refused to answer. Instead, you turn your way to throwing negative tantrums towards me because you think I don’t have a clue what I’m talking about.

If you think it’s so easy for Barnes to recruit then why aren’t we signing 4 & 5* players? Why did Simons look uninterested at the game? Why haven’t we signed Top 25 recruiting classes?

You can “recruit” these players as hard as you want BUT you can’t make them sign with you.

UT has to go against UK, Duke, UNC, the Big Blue Bloods for these Top players.

How in the world do you think it’s easy for UT to out recruit those type of basketball schools???

Laughable

You have an embarrassingly naive and biased view of this program. Since 1948, we have had 50 players drafted, with 9 being first rounders. We have no Final Fours, one Elite 8, and only 7 Sweet 16s. We've not won a conference tournament sooner than 21 years before this incoming class was born. We don't have anything really to sell, which means it's not easy to recruit here.

If he was uiterested at THAT game, soeone needs to take his pulse before recruiting him any further.. I DID see it posted that he didn't look interested, so i'm not doubting you.

Dude - you are clueless. I didn’t answer because it’s not worth discussing with you because you are clueless and have an incorrect assumption about my opinion on recruiting. Now since you’ve insisted...

Per rivals....
Ben Howland who was hired at miss state same time has Barnes has landed 10 four stars and 2 five stars and Barnes has landed 1 four star. 2015-2018 classes.

Is it tough to land top 10 players? Yeah. And you’ll never see me demanding we do that.

I’ve long maintained Barnes needs to do better. Never said much of anything about 5* players. Certainly didn’t demand he land a bunch of them.

Now take your “Tennessee is hard to recruit to” nonsense elsewhere. Dumbest argument ever. Starkville is currently housing a full squad of top 150 players. Don’t give me this talk about how it’s hard to recruit to Tennessee. Excuse making garbage.

Nothing naive about it. You, just like the other excuse maker in this thread, think that I’m demanding top 10 players here.

There’s 125 four and five star players each year. They don’t all go to blue blood schools.

Your argument is sad and silly.

Then, if it's so easy, get your ass on Barnes' staff and show him how it's done.
