Dude - you are clueless. I didnt answer because its not worth discussing with you because you are clueless and have an incorrect assumption about my opinion on recruiting. Now since youve insisted...
Per rivals....
Ben Howland who was hired at miss state same time has Barnes has landed 10 four stars and 2 five stars and Barnes has landed 1 four star. 2015-2018 classes.
Is it tough to land top 10 players? Yeah. And youll never see me demanding we do that.
Ive long maintained Barnes needs to do better. Never said much of anything about 5* players. Certainly didnt demand he land a bunch of them.
Now take your Tennessee is hard to recruit to nonsense elsewhere. Dumbest argument ever. Starkville is currently housing a full squad of top 150 players. Dont give me this talk about how its hard to recruit to Tennessee. Excuse making garbage.
When Barnes was recruiting Daniel he told him that he wasnt guaranteed any starting spot, any minutes, nothing...that he would have to work for it all in practice. And to Daniels credit that didnt bother him at all and he chose to come here over other schools that did promise him minutes etc.
My point being that Im sure Barnes has told Simons from day 1 that hes going to come and and work for and playing time, and that hes not guaranteed anything...so Im assuming Simon is good with that or he wouldnt have visited here. Now does that change as he visits other schools and they make him promises, we shall see.
Recruiting isnt easy.
Go to rivals. Count the 4 and 5 stars signed by each SEC team in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and at back to me.
Stop the excuse making.
What the hell are you talking about. Nursing home Barnes has zero top 100 recruits period.
That's the first time you've said it's not easy. You've been sticking out and thumping your chest about how Barnes should be able to just waltz in, have a conversation, and sign every guy higher than 3* out there. But you're to ignorant, or just ignoring, all the issues we've had prior to this year that prevent it.
He looked bored to death during the game.
I might be wrong, but I'd assume it's somewhat like baseball. Kids are always using the college route to enhance leverage with the mlb team that drafts them. Maybe things are different? Maybe I'm clueless on how this works in hoops? Regardless, I agree. Hope he's wearing orange for at least one year.
His quotes were nice, blown away by atmosphere, better than expected, was watching to see where he would fit and definitely saw it...I wouldnt take too much from it, hes not a commit so I wouldnt expect him to be jumping up and down in Tennessee gear, however the guy sitting 2 spots from him was decked out in orange so not sure if that was Dad or who that was, but guessing it was someone with him.
Mom seemed like she had a ton of fun. The kid is probably just like every other high school kid and probably wanted to act like hes too cool for school. But he just seemed stoic every time I looked over at him. Even in big moments.
It could mean nothing or it could mean he wasnt feeling it.
Im more bummed hes gonna let his recruitment go the distance it seems.
