we’ve had multiple freshman get meaningful playing time on defense this year…
He had Taylor and Jackson drafted. Changing the argument? That’s your thing. What does that have to do with what he has done here? So somehow he can develop guys at UCF but can’t at TN?
So Martinez gets credit for a SR Taylor getting drafted? You putting Martinez name together with Garner is hilarious. Garner has actually improved his unit since he has been here. Martinez has not.He had Taylor and Jackson drafted. Changing the argument? That’s your thing.
Willie Martinez has probably had almost as many draft picks as Rodney Garner, but people don’t care to recognize it.
Taylor and Jackson both made huge jumps as seniors. Neither were going to be drafted until their big senior years. So Martinez gets credit for a SR Taylor getting drafted? So when our CBs suck who should get the blame then? When our secondary plays terrible who should we blame? I am genuinely curious. Because it’s obvious many will go to whatever lengths necessary to defend Martinez.Taylor and Jackson both made huge jumps as seniors. Neither were going to be drafted until their big senior years.
So yeah, obviously Martinez deserves credit for those two guys’ improvement. That goes without saying.
When they play poorly, Martinez should get the blame. When they play well, he gets credit. It’s not that hard.So when our CBs suck who should get the blame then? I like Martinez. He is well respected, has experience, and relationships. But, as things ebb and things flow in the world with NIL etc. Inability to adapt to those changes, and I mean in how you deploy your troops, how you recruit those troops, and the troops you do recruit. Are within your specific 'area management'.When they play poorly, Martinez should get the blame. When they play well, he gets credit. It’s not that hard.
The subject was Alontae Taylor. He improved under Martinez. To say otherwise smacks of agenda.
