'22 FL OT Brian Grant (Tennessee signee)

Tayven Jackson had offers from Florida, Ole Miss, Auburn, A&M, etc

Foley had an Auburn and Arkansas offer

Herring had Miss St, Kentucky, Arkansas

Even Sneed had a Kentucky offer

This is the 1st commit they’ve taken that other SEC schools weren’t pursuing

Their loss?

Grant will prolly weigh in at around 285 when he steps on campus. I think he is exactly what our coaches believe him to be.

Yeah. This class it is all about finding the Grant Williams and Chad Dallas types.

Who are the 2 or 3 underrated prospects that can explode into starters that change the trajectory of the program. It actually makes this class fun in a way.

Elite prospects are the icing on the cake.

Would love it to be some other way where super coach were on staff signing all the 5-stars, but that ain’t happening.

Dat boy needs biscuits and a weight room, stat.
I’d like that too under the better supervision of the program and coaches in a redshirt year. I expect this kid to have excellent footwork and quick feet for a big man with his basketball background. If done right this could be a home run formula for tackle development with a fall back to tight end. We’ve had bad evaluations in the past that have made all our home run tackles guards.

Doubt it would be our choice if he did. He got an FSU offer in recent camp so we are not only ones that see the potential

That makes me feel a little better that another high major sees something in this kid. I've been really skeptical about this one.

I’m not trying to disparage this young student athlete, but in reference to everyone talking about his great footwork due to playing basketball, I read his basketball stats on one site that said he averaged 3.something points a game as a 6’8 junior. Now, the stats could definitely be wrong (especially in this covid year), but this isn’t Giannis on the court crossing over to football. His footwork should be better than a 6’8 340lb kid, but it’s probably just because he’s skinnier, not because he plays basketball. He can become an awesome OT for us, but it won’t be because of his basketball background.

Yeah usually the bigger athletic basketball players end up being tight ends.

I know he’s committed, but isn’t this the type of player that maybe Heup & Co, and staffs in general shouldn’t take flyers on in the future. instead of long term betting on one of these players, hold the scholarship for a transfer where you know you’re getting a good player.
