Did you hear what Meyer did to Maurer? Well what happens if you get another QB here and he then bolts? There is no guarantee that we get another QB with his upside.

And if that happens, we will have only two qbs going into next season, Shrout and Maurer, because I believe McBride is gone regardless. If you think about it, I believe we not only sign two in this cycle, we also persue another transfer before next season.

If you believe that Maurer doesn't know we are persuing another QB in this class, then go ahead and worry about him bolting, I can't stop you. 2 QB's sign in the same class all the time; hell, Butch signed 3 in a class. Also, Jeremy Pruitt isn't CUM. I'd bet the house Maurer is fully aware we are persuing another QB...in fact, I bet he even knows who that QB is, we all do.

The coaches seem to think we have room. If JG doesn't win the job he will likely leave as a grad transfer in the spring.

Won’t make senses for JG to leave in the spring. Chryst will be gone and he’ll be the favorite to win the job his Sr year.

Plus he’ll already have a year in the system under Helton.

Technically, JG will be a redshirt JR and have 2 more years as the possible starter

What quote have you read from the COACHES confirming that thinking? Doesn’t even sound like BRAJ chatter.

That he would transfer? Because he's not Helton and Pruitt's guy, they didn't recruit him. Maybe he's not what they're looking for and If he can't beat out a grad transfer why would he want to risk not playing his senior season. What if Shrout, Maurer, Taulia or whoever the other QB signee is in '19 wins the starting job? No reason to think he'll win the job next fall if he can't win it with much less competition this fall.

He'll have plenty of options as a grad transfer to be the man.

BRAJ have definitely made that chatter over the last 6 months, if JG doesn't win the job he likely leaves.

No sorry I didn't clarify....what makes you think the coaches are wanting to take two QBs? The number of big targets out there vs the number of spots we have is not even close right now. Taking two QBs is a luxury we have no room for this year.

Because both 247 and VQ mods have said they want 2 QB's. They're still recruiting Taulia hard and want to add him to the class along with Maurer. They're still talking with the QB that decommmitted from Kansas yesterday, Callahan made it sound like he's Taulia's backup.
