I'm not very convinced Florida plays better defense than Oregon. You gave up 21 points to Miami. Granted one of those TDs was the result of a Florida fumble deep in their own territory. Still it looks like Miami penalties stopped Miami a few times.

Tenn doesn't make the mistakes Miami made.

There is zero reason to believe Florida has a better defense than your ducks. Our fans are just scared of everyone after yesterday. You're spinning your wheels. This board has a bad habit of "meltdown mode" after a loss.

Everytime we lose for some reason our opponents become 10 feet tall and bulletproof in the eyes of most of our fans.

florida has had 2 weeks to heal and prepare they will have an offense that will score, we on the other hand i have no idea about and it ain't looking good. it's sad tennessee is this bad and has been for so long. GO VOLS!!!

Throw it deep. Our secondary will improve as the season goes on, but we've got a couple new safeties who sometimes don't line up correctly and are still learning how to communicate.

We tried that and your guys just kept getting PI calls for 15 yard penalties until the refs got tired or paid not to call it anymore.

Well I think that comes with being dedicated fans with very high expectations. It's tough when you get beat.

Still the reality is, you guys should be very very tough on Florida. If Smith starts catching the ball more consistently and exploits the Florida secondary. That is where they are vulnerable in my opinion. That happens and the power running game will get in gear. The points will come. Plus Florida hasn't exactly lit up the score board. Should be a good game.

In UF's first two games, this is what opposing QBs have done against our secondary:

Toledo: 17/38 for 155 yards, 0 TDs, 1 INT
Miami: 12/25 for 163 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT

Both QBs were returning starters. Miami beat us deep on a busted coverage by a redshirt freshman safety. Their other passing TD was a corner route where their QB threw a perfect pass where only his guy could make a play...that happens.

That said, it's not as though UF is giving up 300 yards passing every week, and those freshman CBs who kept getting flagged for PI in 2011 are now juniors who shut down UT's NFL QB and receivers last season. Not to mention UF added the nation's top high school CB Vernon Hargreaves, who has two INTs already.

Your suggestion that Florida's defense would've faced the same kind of beating from Oregon that we got is, frankly, a little out there.

And while I think Muschamp has some shortcomings as a head coach, one area where that isn't the case is defensively. Their defense last year was outstanding and I'm not convinced why it shouldn't be this year, especially given how they've performed to this point.

Have you seen there's?

If I were a betting man I'd jump all over this.

You mean their offense thats racked up 400 yards a game and shot themselves in the foot? It's funny how Florida always seems to cure themselves against Tennessee.

UF reloaded on defense.

With the exception of Ronald Powell who was injured, and redshirt strong safety Marcus Maye, all of our defensive starters who didnt start last year got significant playing time last season.

Don't worry the Vols won't score more than 9pts against Florida, but Florida will score 37pts

Fla 37

UT 9

3 years ago Miami was where we are now. They have a good coach who had to come in and fix relations with high school coaches, bad recruiting and no depth. Miami is now and will be a good team. And their only gonna get better.

The boats and hos haven't hurt either.
