Florida has reached out to Bob Stoops, Chip Kelly already

UF has made two meh hires too. Not quite as bad as UTs, but still meh. I think after this coaching search, the better job will be revealed. And one will only slightly be better than the last. To think one is WAY better is a bit delusional imo. They’re both top tier jobs. There’s pros and cons to both. I think they outweigh eachother and I give the slight edge to UT simply because they don’t really have a major in state competitor whereas UF has two.

I didn't expect you to directly answer those questions, but again I understand.

Difference between our recent hires is UF mixed in an all-timer with Spurrier, along with a misfire in Zook who set up yet another all-timer in Urban Meyer.

You want to compare the misses, but not the hits...don't blame you there. And our misses usually got the better of yours.

The SEC is about to be back where it is supposed to be. I truly believe we are about to have a reoccurrence of the 90’s. Nobody is backing down now. Neither one of us want to see UGA take the division completely over and so I believe both us and Florida will get big time hires.

Buyout & wanting to coach bowl game are/were the issues according to insiders.

I was told it was all in his court and he just didn't accept......mainly for the wanting to play the season out. Didn't hear anything about the buyout being an issue.

Ah I see. So becaue a coach is mediocre at a bad program, he should be considered when we desperately need a great coach?

Don’t understand the logic here...you’re hoping that his above average/averafe perdormance at Miss St translates to somehow being a good coach at Tennessee when we have been atrocious?

Just logic isn’t really happening here. A lot of hope and bull****.

There obviously is no guarantee of success, but the argument is defensible. Saban posted a decent record at Michigan State (34-24-1 overall, and 23-16-1 in conference play), but nothing indicative of a future Hall-of-Fane caliber coach. Only his last season at MSU (1999) was truly noteworthy, when the Spartans went 9-2. In his four previous seasons, his record barely hovered above .500 (25-22-1 overall and 17-14-1 in the Big Ten, with no conference finish better than 5th). That kind of record probably would have gotten him fired at Tennessee.

Of course, LSU hired him in 2000. He finished 48-16 coaching the Bayou Bengal boys, with a 28-12 conference record and a share of the national title in 2003. Obviously, his record at Alabama is without peer among contemporary coaches. So, yes, the right coach, if given the opportunity to assume control of a program that has far greater potential than his previous stops, may achieve a level of success that he did not previously enjoy.

Further word that this is getting done

Consider Florida out of the coaching search.

Chip Kelly it is

That Chip doesn’t end up at Florida.

With Kirby at GA, Chip at UF, and Willy at SC, we’d never win the East again. Pray hard that Chip goes to UCLA and that we don’t botch this next hire.

Funny, I'm hoping he ends up at Florida.

Gator officials meeting with Kelly but the AD is not traveling with them?
Okay

Take this for what it's worth...numbers seem lower than expected for Kelly...
