But they wouldn't have been able to snap it. The new rule last year says you have to have 2 seconds or a timeout.

The officials did get it wrong there.

"If the clock expires at the end of a half, and replay determines that there was time remaining on the clock, and the clock would start on the Referee’s signal after review, there must be at least 3 seconds remaining when the ball should have been declared dead to restore time to the clock. With 2 seconds or 1 second remaining on the clock, the half is over. This change will not impact situations when the clock is stopped and will remain stopped until the snap such as incomplete passes and runners out of bounds."

Exciting game. But that was two dogs barking. Some of the worst coaching I’ve ever seen. And for LSU, you know you have bad special teams or a really bad kicker if you get two PAT’s blocked in one game.

There is no down by contact in college, but if down with a running clock, you have to have 3 seconds in order to snap it. They changed the rule after the 2019 Iron Bowl.

Clock stops on the first down to move the chains, so that was irrelevant.
