will this count his bouts with driving while intoxicated coming back to haunt him? I don't think he gets fired after next season for the team he fields, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him busted for drinking too much and partying with coeds that would lead to a dismissal.
My family has season tix for UK football and basketball and all my friend (expect for the VOLNATION) are cats fans. Most everyone thinks he sould be gone. Most people think that he is a good Xs and Os coach but can't change his game plan during the game to save his life. And no one understand why if GALLOWAY MILLER OR LIGGINS have a good game they hardly play or don't play at all the next game. In his post game interviews he rips his post players except for PATTERSON but never changes the line-up the next game. I watched the game tonight with my dad and neither one of us have any idea why He had backups in for 4 mins and let UGA go on a 10-0 run before he changed the line up. He will have a solid team next year because IMO Meeks will not leave Patterson may just leave because there isn't many good big man in the draft this year So we will see if he can coach next year.
I would really hate to be a mod at catspause.
Here is what I don't really understand about the whole argument. UK is a sweet sixteen team at best, and that is only when Meeks is able to get his 28-30 points. This season is really not going to hurt their recruiting. I just don't see the big deal. If you think your program is the crown jewel of the basketball world why is making the sweet sixteen a big deal. If you can't win it all (and this UK team would be lucky to escape the first round) why even bother?
That is like Tennessee football fans hanging their hats on an SECE championship appearance.
Maybe UK basketball faithful, the self proclaimed world basketball gurus, Should try to understand that beating UT in Knoxville was an achievement worthy of absolutely nothing. No, I agree that this is a mediocre UK team by UK standards. But what drives fans crazy are how they can go to Knoxville and blow up Tennessee but lose to VMI and Georgia at home. This team is schizophrenic. They've shown flashes of being a good basketball team. Then they have a terrible game.
And if UK were ever in the SEC Championship game in football, I would hang my coat, scarf, gloves, and hat on it.
So if UK is a mediocre team surrounding by other mediocre teams, and CBG is the best coach shouldn't he be able to win the mediocre SECE?
For the record I'm not saying he's getting fired or anything.
Tom Hammond is the biggest douche in broadcasting. Anyone who treats him like the trash he is immediately becomes a better person in my eyes.Much easier at WCN. When we get a bad loss, the server gets overloaded and WCN crashes. Makes moderation much easier.
As my input to the deep cerebral machination going on here, I would say these things:
1. The bad losses are one thing, but UK has a serious PR problem in CBCG. You might dismiss his sparring with Jeannine Edwards, but last night he dissed Tom Hammond, the consummate NBC guy, as well as UK's own play-by-play radio guy, Tom Leach.
2. CBCG better look deep in his desk, past the faxes from Randolph Morris, and find his unsigned contract and get it back to UK's AD. (And if I'm the AD, I stamp it "return to sender").
3. (Borrowed from a poster at WCN, but thought it was appropriate). BCG isn't on the hot seat. He has hell in his Fruit-of-the-Looms. lol:
Someone who spends their time slobbering all over Keno Davis saying Billy Clyde has accomplished nothing is high comedy.I'm on your side on this one.. if he's the coach that he is supposed to be then he would definitely not be 8-7 in the SEC this year.. Meeks and Patterson are two of the most productive players in the SEC and if you have a great coach there is no way you should be 8-7 in the SEC...
meanwhile...
this worthless coach Bruce Pearl is in position to win the east once again with obvious problems at numerous positions and yet people are still saying BCG is still the best coach when he has done nothing..
