The two remarkable things about both of these posts are that 1) neither of you disagrees with the premise that both Fox and Drudge manipulate the facts of a report in order to make a story more likely to appeal to conservatives, i.e. to bury or flatly ignore the fact that the pledge was made at the subject school every day except the one day;
and 2) instaed of telling me what's right about Fox and Drudge, you just whine some more about the other liberal media outlets. Even if your characterizations of CNN and MSNBC et. al. were correct, that does not justify mindless loyalty to being told over and over the things you already think.
I mean, if that's all you want, I can do it for you. Here goes.
War is good.
Arabs are evil.
Minorities are lazy and uneducated and most are immoral.
Public schools suck.
The government is trying to take all your money.
If we just gave our kids a little more discipline and fewer condoms, all would be right with the world.
To doubt the facts concerning climate change and global warming is nothing but partisan ignorance.
Laugh at the facts all you want. Those who laugh tend to live longer anyway, so laugh away my friend
Just as sometimes I think Obama winning could be a good thing. Have to feel the pinch for people to wake up, kind of thing?
yep plus I also think it would be a huge blow to our enemies in the Middle East when all the money suddenly vanishes. They have 1 product keeping the whole region afloat and we buy as much as they can produce.
When all crack heads go to rehab, what happens to the dealers?
Who is rejoicing over the high oil prices?
The environmental nuts.
actually I'm not an environmental nut and think it could turn out to be a good thing.
This exchange is EXACTLY what I'm talking about re: this incredibly frustrating effort by uber-conservatives to make all people who are middle of the road or even a little left on some issues seem like radicals.
Higher oil prices make it economically feasible to invest in and produce alternative energy sources. Until now, things like solar and wind power were too costly relative to the same unit of energy that could be prodcued from oil.
As those cost/unit lines get close to converging, the incentive to be on the front end and to develop alternatives grows. Its simple economics.
But noooooo. The conservatives have to make it seem like anyone who sees this bigger picture is an "environmental nut."

No one is "rejoicing" over high oil prices (except for those that own the oil, of course). But what some people who take a larger view of things recognize is that it was inevitable as the resource dwindled and demand grew that this kind of thing is natural.

please post me the link to any article or newstory on fox news or foxnews.com that even IMPLIES that "minorities are lazy and uneducated and most are immoral." Thanks much.

you quoted me so please explain how that is even close to my intent. Or did you just skip my other posts
and I've actually stated that quite a few times on this very board. If you're going to take a quote make sure you know the beliefs of the poster.
Well, you kind of put me on the spot because its not like they exist every moment of every day.
But, here's one from Drudge today which is couched in terms of efforts to make race not an issue in the campaign, but when you read it appears to forewarn that Obama will use it as a shield to deflect criticism. The story is pre-emptive and anticipatory of race-baiting.
Obama braces for race-based ads
And here's one from Fox today, about comparing comments from Spike Lee and Mayor Nagin of New Orleans about a "chocolate city," engendering fear in the minds of voters that Obama is going to turn the White House or Washington more culturally or politically "black."
Spike Lee Sees Chocolate City Under an Obama Administration - Americas Election HQ
I note that Fox is also running the same story that Drudge did above implying that any claim by Obama's camp that race is being used against him is to be dismissed as race-baiting.
Relax, Frances.
We are saying the same thing. It is not liberal or conservative, left or right, radical or fascist, to observe that higher oil prices means that other sources, perhaps cleaner sources, become price competitive.
That's my point (and yours, I believe).
